I read somewhere that Danny Elfman is composing/composed "additional music" for Avengers:AOU?
Indeed. Doesn`t really mean it`s Spidey-related though.

I would be very pleased if they brought back the original theme in some capacity.
As would I, unless it means getting Maguire back. If that`s the case, then I want to stay as far way from that theme as possible.
If we hear the first few opening bars of Elfman's Spider-Man theme at the end of Age of Ultron, we'll known even before he appears on screen that Spider-Man must be in the end credits, or something related to him.

Iron Man used the 60s cartoon theme, not the Iron Man animated series.
And the 90s Spider-Man animated series theme is not the definitive Spider-Man theme. Ask anyone and they will tell you without a doubt that it's the 60s Spider-Man theme, which the Raimi films did use several times, either in the end credits or in-joke references to it within the films themselves:

Even kids today know it without actually knowing what it comes from and that it was a even a cartoon. It's almost like a Spider-Man jingle now.
I thought the Horner and Zimmer Spider-Man themes were completely forgettable and don't even seem particularly spidery at all.
I'm not sure if anyone has suggested him (too lazy to check) but Henry Jackman's score for Big Hero 6 was very cool.
Doesn't this have quite a Spider-Man feel to it?

Sorrot of mostly the first like 20 seconds though.
True but that 20 seconds is a pretty damn good 20 seconds of Spidey-esque music!
