Homecoming Michael Giacchino is the Composer for Spider-Man: Homecoming

I really hope they get someone good. Most of the MCU scores are just forgettable to me, whereas I can still listen to Elfman, Horner, or Zimmer's Spidey scores anytime and still enjoy them.

I just hope they give it a fresh sound and not more of the same like most Marvel scores (imo).

Music like in the trailers for the first Spider-Man movie really suit the character, and the 90's animated theme song.

Iron Man used the animated series song in their movie right? I think it's important that they use the 90's theme song. There can be a theme and a them song. Or they should just hire whoever did the score and theme song for the 90's animated series.

It was the definitive Spidey theme. I didn't mind Eflman's score, it was very good, and original, but I think Spider-Man could have a better theme than that.

James Horner's theme sucked ass. Period. It was replaceable. That could have been any superhero's movie theme. That's my point, but this is Spider-Man. Danny Eflman's theme was at least, memorable. Horner's on the other hand sounded too random.

Iron Man used the 60s cartoon theme, not the Iron Man animated series.

And the 90s Spider-Man animated series theme is not the definitive Spider-Man theme. Ask anyone and they will tell you without a doubt that it's the 60s Spider-Man theme, which the Raimi films did use several times, either in the end credits or in-joke references to it within the films themselves:

Even kids today know it without actually knowing what it comes from and that it was a even a cartoon. It's almost like a Spider-Man jingle now.

I thought the Horner and Zimmer Spider-Man themes were completely forgettable and don't even seem particularly spidery at all.

I don't want Zimmer anywhere near the MCU. He is to scores what Bay is to movies

I freaking love Hans Zimmer, and I quite liked his work on ASM2 but the main theme was just awful. It gets stuck in my head easily, but I hate it so much.

Horner's score was good, but didn't lay a finger on Elfman's.

I'm not sure who they should go with, James Newton Howard maybe? I just hope the new Spidey score doesn't end up being forgettable, because I can't think of one MCU film that's had a score I've genuinely liked.

I will never get the love for The Avengers score. Yes, the theme was superhero-y, but that doesn't make it good. It was as generic and cliched as it gets, basically sounds like what would pop up in a stock music library if you typed in "superhero".

I actually wouldn't mind incorporating the 90s Spidey theme into it somehow. Or at least something inspired by it, with a bit of electric guitar and a sense of mischief. Sort of the direction Zimmer was going in, minus the dubstep influence.

Oh God, something in the vein of the 90s theme would be insane.

I would LOVE that.

Here's a crazy idea I'd totally serious about - Weezer. Who better for nerdy angst than tnem ?

No dude. I hate Weezer. So friggin boring. I am literally cringing at the thought of this. Ugh.

Definitely! If you are referencing a Spidey theme, it has to be the 60's. I was never a fan of the 90's theme. I like the Spectacular one better too. It had that "spider" type vibe (the beginning and end) and a sort of 60's type vibe. Anything along those two (60's or Spectacular) would be great.

Orchestral, Elfman had a good "spinning" vibe to it. I just would have preferred a more memorable melody like his Batman or John William's Superman.

As far as MCU films, I liked Cap's theme and the Avenger's was decent. I dug the end credits foe Iron Man 3. Something like that, capturing the jazzy 60's style would be cool.

Henry Jackman's Kingsman score gave me real superhero vibes. I loved his Winter Woldier score too - and since he's doing Civil War, he'll likely get a quick stab at a Spidey theme there. I think he could be a great choice.

Great idea. I am going to suggest John Williams, simply because he is the best at what he does. Definitely not gonna happen, but a guy can dream.

When I heard the score for Kingsman during the movie, the theme sounded a lot like the one from Winter Soldier. It was no surprise to me when I saw Jackman with a score credit.

Anyway, I like Michael Giacchino or James Newton Howard.

:pal::pal::pal::pal: Really comparing one of the best music composers of all time to one of the worst directors of all time wow!

I'm a Zimmer fan myself, but the TASM2 score was the absolute worst thing I've heard from Zimmer, though no doubt cheapened by the decision to use a "band" of composers consisting of hip hop artists and whatnot.

While I can appreciate his work is not to your taste, you're comparing a guy who's won an Oscar and been nominated 9 other times to...Michael Bay.

while I couldn't disagree with you more has the score blew me away. His 3erd best score behind only dark knight rises and lion king.

That said, I didn't care for his TASM2 score, lol.

My problem was the inconsistent sound. Parts Zimmer orchestral. Way too much synth/electronic.

I read somewhere that Danny Elfman is composing/composed "additional music" for Avengers:AOU?
