Michael Giancchino is becoming my favorite composer

I didn't know he did The Incredibles themes, but after hearing some of his later stuff, I recognize it right off now. His work on Cloverfield, Star Trek, and Lost are excellent. And I just saw Land of the Lost earlier tonight with a friend of mine, and he gave the movie, as goofy as it was, a very sweeping adventuresome and creepy score. The end theme is basically one of the weirdest things ever, a combo of an epic orchestral choir, banjos and guitar riffs. We may have to put his ass on the Iron Man sequel to improve that forgettable theme from the first one.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to one-up you: Michael Giacchino IS my favorite composer.

His work on LOST never ceases to blow me away. It's like movie-quality score. He also did Speed Racer, which ****ing blew me away.

I also love Bear McCreary's stuff.

The man is a genius. I have all of his albums. The MI3 score is my favorite from him.

He's good, but not that good. I think his video game scores are more enjoyable than most of his film score output (his Medal of Honor and Secret Weapons Over Normandy work is incredible). I do think his score for Star Trek was disappointing, especially since I enjoyed the movie so much.

The Incredibles just knocks me over every time. So much fun and the orchestra just really shines in the action sequences too.

I think Lost is his best but I also like Star Trek and Cloverfield. He also did UP, Ratatouille, and Sky High.

I wasn't a fan of Iron Man's soundtrack either but I loved the movie so it didn't matter too much.

I didn't love Trek's music but I didn't dislike it either. It worked, it fit.

He's really becoming the new go-to composer. I would say Giachinno and Dario Marianelli (Pride and Prejudice, Atonement, The Soloist, V for Vendetta) are my two favourite current movie composers.
