Anyone hear ever heard of the Musician MICHAEL GRAVES? I imagine comic fans would like some of his latter lyrics. He, thusfar, is the only guy who can pull off an awesome emotionally moving ballad and use comicbook subject matter to do so. For instance: His song "BUTCHER SHOP".

"Super man,
I'm callin back again.
The phone is ringin off the hook,
Is someone comin up the steps?
Water's coming in again,
Drippin from the ceiling.
The smell is in the stinking shades,
of somewhere very deep beneath the sink.
When i looked down,
and you lost face...

Superman,
And all his friends;
The Spiderman is hangin from the ceiling.
The badguys are on the loose,
They can't stop stealing.
An evil plan, the world will fall into its hands..."

I just love that line "The spiderman is hangin from the ceiling..." Like freakin Peter Parker just couldn't take it anymore, shot a line of web and tied his noose, hooha! Great stuff. He's got another song called "Superhero" that's funny too. He's on myspace, check em out. Good stuff.

well, I wouldn't go that far. after all he's hardly the only singer to have ever used comicbook references in his lyrics.

for instance -

Superman - Five For Fighting

Superman's Song - Crash Test Dummies

I know the architect turned target designer michael graves.

oh, and are you people kidding me? tons of comic book references in popular music all the time.

is this the same michael graves that joined the misfits and made them crap???

I've only heard what he did with the misfits.

Anybody remember that guy on the hype who made and recorded a bunch of songs where he is singing from the perspective of Batman?

It was....strange, and horrible.

oh man, really? I'd like to hear them if only out of morbid curiosity.

Yup. Personally, i'm not a huge punk fan, fancy myself more into metal (blackmetal, deathmetal, powermetal, etc.) but this IS the MG who joined up w/ the misfits. I personally liked Misfits in the graves era (IE Famous Monsters/American Psycho) but his new stuff is WWAAAAAYY too poppy. Therebeit the reason the only two songs i REALLY like by him are SUPERHERO and BUTCHER SHOP.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, "graves"I get it, you know, the thing I hated about the misfist was the whole "look we have stupid names" I mean, didn't we all laugh at Manson in the 90's for that exactly, and I know that's the only reason why I hate avenged sevenfold, some legaly change "zacky vengeance" to the name that it should be "caroline" or something equally stupid.

the misfits were an amazing band...then glenn left.. years later when graves just toured with them doing the old songs, i dug him...then they released a new album ...i cried..
