it has nothing to do with humankind coming together. It's about man and women climaxing simultaneously. When someobdy says come together that's what they mean. Just look at the lyrics. She got hair to her knees, hold you in his arm till you can feel his disease.
LOL!
You don't even know the lyrics to the song.
And no, that's not what the song is about.

dancing is just as difficult as playing the guitar, and MJ does it better. It's not like anybody ever said Lennon was the best guitar player of all time.

Well, no. This guy is.

possibly, but dancing has zero to do with whether a song is good or not.

wow, that's not even a little bit right. and you also misquoted the lyrics.

Dancing doesn't add to a song. Musical instruments do.

Well I read Aerosmith's book called Walk this Way, and when Steven talked about the song, he went on about how back in his day everybody always referred to simultaneous climax as come together.

Got to be good looking cause she's so hott you see.

dude they are talking about sex.

I'm sorry but that's an ignorant thing to say. I don't think you understand or grasp dancing. Dancing is a song. It's a visual song. When you can do it, it amplifies the energy of the song that you hear. It literally makes the song sound several times better.

And watching somebody do it can do the same thing. And it's really ignorant to say "plus I respect the fact that he can play guitar while singing but MJ can't because he's too busy dancing"

That's ignorant. When people talk about the best dancer of all time, they talk about James Brown and Michael Jackson. When people talk about guitar playing you will hear no mention of John Lennon.

I have to ask, can you dance? it is just like playing an instrument. it is the same exact process, and requires the same type of skill, aside from being physically demanding. You have to be on key, keep a beat, maintain rythym, switch it up at the right times, and the moves have to look good with that specific melody. Some dance moves and combos are harder than others, and it takes years of practice. I have 8 years of practice under my belt, been to clubs, never met anybody that can dance better than I can, and I can tell you that MJ can dance a hundred times better than I can.

I'm not saying Lennon's not talented, I"m just saying that's dumb to say his playing guitar while singing is more respectable than MJ's dancing while singing. For one thing dancing is harder to do while singing because it would be like trying to run 10 miles an hour while singing at the same time. Try it once.

Plus it's the whole reason he's considered the best performer of all time. He gives you a show.

Man I don't know how anybody can say that. Did you watch it? I didn't even post it long enough ago for you to watch it. The ending is where he just kills the original. From 4:48 to the end.

I watched it it was pretty bad

Jackson can't touch the Beatles

Jackson's is all style and no substance.

dude you might not like his music out of personal taste, or you might just be lying. Everybody I knew during the 80's loved him, and the people I still know, now deny ever having liked him. Not trying to be rude, but I've come to realize that 99% of the time when somebody claims to not like MJ's music, they are lying, because they don't want to admit the like music produced by a freak.

But aside, dude that is an extremely stupid remark. I'm going to choose Lennon here, and not because I think Lennon isn't talented, but because he is in the discussion, and you seem to think he's more talented.

Find some videos on you tube, and point out to me specifically where he did something great vocally. Something vocally demanding, and challenging. post the link, and post the time in the video where it gets really difficult.

Because I can tell you this, MJ's vocal arrangments are not easy to pull off and most critics will tell you that MJ is arguably the most talented entertainer of all time.

Nope

The song's history began with Lennon writing a song for Timothy Leary's failed gubernatorial campaign in California against Ronald Reagan, one which promptly ended when Leary was sent to prison for possession of marijuana. It was transformed by Lennon into a track with digs at McCartney and Harrison interspersed alongside tales of his Bagism movement with wife Yoko Ono. It was the subject of a lawsuit brought against Lennon by Chuck Berry's music publisher, Morris Levy, due to the fact that one line in "Come Together" closely resembled a line of Berry's You Can't Catch Me: (i.e. The Beatles' "Here come ol' flattop, he come groovin' up slowly" vs. Berry's "Here come up flattop, he was groovin' up with me"). After settling out of court, Lennon promised to record other songs owned by Levy, all of which were released on Lennon's 1975 album Rock 'n' Roll.

It's in the deliverance of a song. and it does make songs better at times. For example I think Remember the time is an okay song, but when you watch the video, it becomes freaking awesome.

dancing doesn't really matter it's just a choice whether to dance or not

Is that Joe Perry? I'm a big fan of Aerosmith, but I don't think he's even close to the best guitar player of all time. Normally when people talk about the best guitar player of all time they talk about BB King, Slash, and Hendrix with a few others.

it's a choice for some people. for some it's not a choice. and even if it was? Is making music in the first place a choice?

I don't care what you think the Beatles win hands down

Not in the minds of music critics, or album sales, grammy judges, or the record books. The only one of those that the Beatles were on par with was record sales. On everything else he left them in the dust.

plus the guy from Metallica

I can't tell if that's Joe Perry or not. It looks like him, but it's hard to tell with that face he's making, and he did try to do the two guitar thing for a little while.

That's a good song. but yikes. why'd you post the video? I'm not saying that to diss the Beatles, it's just that untill MJ revolutionized music videos, they all sucked horribly. Talk about cheese.

you should watch the Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds video

There are only two covers that I like and think may in fact be better than the origionals, and those are Johnny Cash's rendition of "Hurt" and Joe Cocker's version of "I get by with a little help from my friends." Other than that, I either sidlike covers, or just prefer the origionals.
