Dancing doesn't add to a song. Musical instruments do.
I'm sorry but that's an ignorant thing to say. I don't think you understand or grasp dancing. Dancing is a song. It's a visual song. When you can do it, it amplifies the energy of the song that you hear. It literally makes the song sound several times better.
And watching somebody do it can do the same thing. And it's really ignorant to say "plus I respect the fact that he can play guitar while singing but MJ can't because he's too busy dancing"
That's ignorant. When people talk about the best dancer of all time, they talk about James Brown and Michael Jackson. When people talk about guitar playing you will hear no mention of John Lennon.
I have to ask, can you dance? it is just like playing an instrument. it is the same exact process, and requires the same type of skill, aside from being physically demanding. You have to be on key, keep a beat, maintain rythym, switch it up at the right times, and the moves have to look good with that specific melody. Some dance moves and combos are harder than others, and it takes years of practice. I have 8 years of practice under my belt, been to clubs, never met anybody that can dance better than I can, and I can tell you that MJ can dance a hundred times better than I can.
I'm not saying Lennon's not talented, I"m just saying that's dumb to say his playing guitar while singing is more respectable than MJ's dancing while singing. For one thing dancing is harder to do while singing because it would be like trying to run 10 miles an hour while singing at the same time. Try it once.
Plus it's the whole reason he's considered the best performer of all time. He gives you a show.
