Michelle Obama states white lady was racist to ask her for help at Target

Ah... The Ditto-Head fire brigade has been called out. The OP asked a totally ridiculous question LOADED with bias to my eyes. So... Yeah. Have a Coke and a smile ect., ect.

PS, OP in this case means ORIGINAL POST, NOT ORIGINAL POSTER.
I copy and pasted the article and words of the First Lady according to the People magazine exclusive. I then questioned why she viewed it racist that a short lady asked her to grab an item for her on a top shelf. Maybe your own biases are holding you back from objectivity here. Dunno

Recreating old threads that have been deleted is just like getting banned and coming back with the same name.

I had to double-check the forum title. I thought I had accidentally wandered onto a Fox News Channel forum or something. Sheesh. I'm certainly noticing an "interesting" pattern in some of OPs posts. Namely a lot of complaining about and the pushing of a certain viewpoint about a particular group of people.

And again... Nowhere in the story was the First Lady coloring here interaction as racist. It's like you are the only one who wants to see this as some sort of affront to racial harmony and personal dignity. It's truly baffling... Unless of course it's just the usual reactionary jibber-jabber... Which I am guessing it is.
Did you not read the story?

The article is titled,
The Obamas: How We Deal with Our Own Racist Experiences

That's the story Michelle provided detailing a "racist" experience she had at Target.

Which is especially odd because a few years ago she told the exact same story on Letterman as a jokey type story about trying to not be recognized and thought the woman had recognized her and blown her cover, but she just asked to get something off of the top shelf.

Exactly.

As for tacit's remark... the thread was never locked. I was never notified of anything. I wanted to see what the explanation was regarding the People magazine story from some other posters, and since it disappeared I did not get a chance to read them. Hence the new thread, to see if this is really what she said or if someone could shed new light on the topic.

Not everything is some deep rooted conspiracy by the "OP" to push some agenda. I've criticized Fox News too, so stop using that as a way to assert I must be a "republican" with the subtext of being racist.

lc23, if I make a post about the specific cases where black men have attacked cops or pointed a gun at them as being a reason for their demise... it doesn't mean I think every black man should be shot just for walking the street, sheesh. I just think in some of the cases it appears that not complying, as well as attacking a cop would land anyone to their own demise regardless of race. I don't know what that view is so controversial to some, but that's how I see it. If we were talking cases where a black man was pulled over, complied and did not attack or threaten cop, and was still shot - it would be a different view on the actions.

After searching, I haven't found the original thread in this forum or the politics forum. Being as how it wasn't moved or locked, it was most likely deleted.

I took the story as a joke and she had a sense of humor about it. I don't know why BvS decided this was worthy of a thread.

Oh lawd.

I can't find the thread  What happened?

It was put in the trash can by a mod. Looks like this and the other thread is just here to stir up trouble. I will close it for now and talk with the staff about it.
