The Amazing Spider-Man Might be a bit of a noob question but can someone clear this up for me?

So I know their using these super high def, revolutionary cameras for the film, but just how ridiculously amazing are these cameras? I thought I heard that this is the first film to be released in such high quality?

If this is the case, is this film also supposed to take home VFX awards like it's nobody's business?

The highest quality images are produced by IMAX film used by Nolan on parts of TDK and the upcoming Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

Actually, from what I've read the RED Epic camera that they're using is supposed to have as high resolution or higher than 35mm. Lemme find a link...

BLOODY HELL, how many times higher than HD video is the resolution of IMAX?

35mm is said to go as high as 8k.
