Might try to get into the film industry...again.

Man, I had to really debate where to post this. I'm still not sure this is the write area. It's movie related, but it's not ABOUT movies...so...anyway.

A few years back I tried to get into the script writing business. But couldn't even get a script read. Anywhere. So I ended up giving up.

Well, now i'm just amazed at the crap that get's released. The Direct to dvd, SyFy original films, even some bigger budget films that seemed to have been written by a child on speed. It seems like my chances could possibly be better now. Maybe.

But where to start? Anyone have any helpful advice for someone who has ZERO contacts in the industry, but wants to get some fairly low budget scripts out there? Is there any room for GOOD storytelling now?

You can write shorts, film, and upload them to youtube. Youtube fame could be another angle to take.

I can't really "make" the movie...only write it.

I'll try my luck at script competitions...I doubt I could get a studio to even read my work...even syfy and they seem desperate. lol
