Miller is overrated.

I'm talking about Frank Millar, not Mark. Ever since Sin City the movie came out, he's been oogled over by fans, but I just don't think his stuff is any good. I read the Daredevil stuff, year one, sin city (and the movie) and, DK and DKR, and read the new Batman & Robin stuff, but aside from Y.O. I don't think any of it is good. It's just the same over the top, gritty crap with different characters. Even the movie, which yes, if I didn't like the comic, I wouldn't like the movie... i thought was bad. Granted, I'd still pay the $7.50 to see Alba work a pole, but aside from the artistic perspective, the movie wasn't worth my time. And now he's going to be writing and directing a Spirit movie? why? Maybe I have to read some spirit stuff, but from what I've read, he doesn't seem to fit to Millar's suit. Can someone help me out here?

first off, miller has been "oogled" by fans long before the sin city movie. second off, if you're willing to pay 7.50 to see a clothed alba work a poll, then your judgement and opinion on these matters are pretty invalid, as you obviously have poor decision making skills. lastly, i'd say he's pretty well rated...fans praise him for his praise worthy work and trash him for his trashy work. dirty and gritty is his style...if you dont like that, thats cool. but dont tell us we're over rating him, because we dig his stuff, which you clearly dont.

The only problem I have with Miller is too many people are trying to turn their characters into a dark Batman'esque type hero.

I think that's what Goyer admitted to be his problem with Warner Brothers, he was trying to do this dark Flash type character instead of how he's usually portrayed in the comics.

You forgot Miller's first run on Daredevil, Daredevil: Born Again and Daredevil: The Man without Fear

Took over 30 years for a writer to do something better with the character.

I agree with this sentiment. It's become overdone. It also begs the question, if he's so overrated then why is nearly everyone in the industry trying to emulate him? Miller's not overrated; he's a trendsetter and visionary. It's all the other jackasses that lack their own vision just trying to copy him that are overrated.

Frank Miller's work before DK2 is still great. My problem with him, is:

1. Everything from DK2 on, sucked ass, hard.

2. Dark Knight Returns is not in continuity, so Meltzer, you can stop that right now.
