Missing submarine

Consider how deep they are and no backups on board I imagine they are dead

Yes best case scenario they died a quick death. Worst case is they are alive and running out of oxygen.

Stupid all around. This “sub” was nowhere near safe to go in.

I’m just now reading about it and just in awe. How the hell does something like that just go missing with all the technology we have now?

Hope everyone is found safe.

The more I read about this the more I question who in their right mind would not only get in something like that but spend $250k to do it.

This is my thinking too. They probably lost pressure and imploded, something like that. :(

Allegedly a lot of submersibles -- including James Camerons' -- are jerry rigged like that. No thanks. :(

Must be horrible to be lost under the ocean in something like that. Unfortunately seems like little chance of survivors.

The idea of it gives me shudders. I'd rather it be a quick drowning than a slow suffocation.:( I hope they get found, but I'm not optimistic. :(

They would have run out of oxygen today regardless but a debris field indicates that the submersible imploded from pressure which would mean they were all killed instantly. Still horrible but it's a better alternative than slowly suffocating to death, especially if it happened so fast they didn't realize what was going on.

Oh, yeah. If their death was inevitable then this was the better way to go, IMO. Just tragic it happened at all. :(

The fact that there are folks genuinely happy and celebrating the deaths of these people online is extremely concerning, to say the least. Human loss of life is tragic regardless of one's wealthy status.

Anybody celebrating this is a vile human being. :( That's just rotten.

I mean, the coverage of this eclipses the tragedy that just happened in the Mediterranian. A tragedy, in lives lost, magnitudes greater than what happened here.

My sympathies for those lost in a inevitable accident of hubris is limited.

There's a difference between not caring, and being genuinely gleeful that these people died which is repulsive. What's happened in the Mediterranian is tragic as well, nowhere did I deny or imply that.

Both are tragic events regardless.
