The fact that there are folks genuinely happy and celebrating the deaths of these people online is extremely concerning, to say the least. Human loss of life is tragic regardless of one's wealthy status.

I saw that as I was watching last night and thought it was tacky and a bit over the top. Not surprised someone took offense.

No, I can distinguish when people say they can't musture sympathy but acknowledge this as something tragic that could have been easily prevented, and people who laugh at this and in a form of twisted glee say that it serves them right because the passengers were rich. One look at how a lot of folks on social media sites are responding to this (Reddit and Twitter especially) should give you look at how many of those latter responses there are.

That's my stance on it. I have no sympathy for any of them except for the 19-year old. He was just a kid and likely just went along with his dad out of excitement. Everyone else knew what they were getting into and there were plenty of blatant red flags that were simply ignored. It's like visiting a wolf sanctuary and covering yourself in sheep's blood. You're just dooming yourself.

Scary. That submarine looked really tiny.

And realistically speaking, the submarine that tiny would need a miracle to be found under the depths of the oceans. A huge part of the ocean floor is still uneXplored even with today's technology.

You couldn't have paid me any amount of money to get in that thing, I'd have been nervous just purely from a claustrophobic perspective given how tiny it looks & that's even before seeing the stuff about it's development, certification & being controlled with a third party Xbox controller.

It is scary, plus they paid stupid money to do it. It's one thing to have bleeding edge scientists doing it, now you've got civilians going along. There's going to be serious regulatory changes made, too bad people had to die for that but this is how capitalism seems to work these days.

I thought so yes, though I don't know how many. There have been interviews with two guys who went last year and were unsettled the whole time about their safety.
