Missing the "College Experience"

At computer labs and as a writing consultant. I still worked 20 hours a week, and at one point was taking 18 or 19 credits a semester. I knew plenty of people who worked outside of school who also managed their time just fine, though. I wasn't able to procrastinate with school work, either. If I hadn't just forced myself to do hours of work every day, then I wouldn't have been able to have a social life.

I'm just saying that college wasn't a party everyday type thing like people in the outside think. If you could go out 2-3 times a week then that's cool. But not everyone could. If you work retail or at a restaurant/bar or at the movie theaters or something like that then chances are you're working weekends since that's when employers want you there since it's the busy days. So, your day off was in the middle of the week when you had classes and school related stuff to do after class. For those who had weekends off there usually be a party on Saturday night. But that's about it. On Friday night and Sunday people were out, maybe at a club or hanging at the mall or whatever but usually not at a party. Again, it may not be everyones experience but for some it was.

Also, I don't think partying is the only good thing about college. School activities were good too. You got to make friends and, depending on the activity, have some fun.

Never went to college but did enjoy the perks of college social life like lots of girls, drugs and alcohol, concerts and street events and things of that sort. I never stopped learning I was a high school dropout but I read a new book every week everything from philosophy, to poetry and Shakespeare and history for many years and till this day I learn something new every day. The only reason I will like to go to college is because I'll get paid more with a degree at work and I know I could breeze through the curriculums like nothing. In a way I'm kinda happy about that cause school won't be stressful for me like it would've been had I gone at 18.

I went to both a small college and a large university (started at the private school, transferred to a 20,000 population university). I didnt really enjoy college, so I'm glad to finally have graduated.

Well sure. And my social life consisted of a lot of just casual hanging out and involvement in school activities...college wouldn't have been the same without it. I think it's VERY important to get involved with student life clubs and organizations.
