Action-Adventure Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning/The Final Reckoning

Action movies and adventure films.
They should have switched it up and killed off Kurt and made Sabine the big bad in the 3rd act.

Yeah I agree with that. I had a hard time buying Kurt being able to fight Ethan like that at the end. I know Nyqvist did some decent fighting in John Wick, but come on.

Which was your favorite opening title sequence from the Mission Impossible series?!

For me it’s
1. Rogue Nation
2. Dead Reckoning
3. Mission Impossible
4. Fallout
5. The Final Reckoning
6. MI: 3
7. Ghost Protocol
8. Mi: 2

Ah man, I loved it.

Aside from the obvious highlights...Ethan Hunt put someone in the ankle lock, and then chastised him for spending too much time on the internet. That ruled.

Also...this movie tried to give us a payoff a J.J. Abrams mystery box... 20 years later! :tearsofjoy:

I'm gonna miss this series. This one really brought home how much joy in the movie theater this franchise and these characters have given us over several decades.

A close second because it f**ks so hard.

This is a franchise that got better and better in almost every way as it went on, with the one exception being the distinct lack of Limp Bizkit post-M:I 2.

I re-watched Fallout the other day, that movie is basically this franchises TDK. Everything comes together perfectly and you are literally exhausted by the end of the movie because it's such a ride. Also like TDK they try and top it after but whole I enjoyed Dead Reckoning (not seen Final yet), it's just not quite as good as it's predecessor.

One thing I liked about Final Reckoning is that they seemed to at least subtly acknowledge Ethan’s age in that he doesn’t win every fight. He actually needed some help from time to time.

I mean, Ethan still manages to survive arctic waters and the bends with no oxygen tank and just a Speedo, and climbs from one biplane to another in mid-air, but hey. It’s more realistic.

I think with Hendricks they could have done more with the character, but he wasn't a bad villain, he just barely spoke.

1. Solomon Lane
2. Owen Davian
3. August Walker
4. Jim Phelps
5. Sean Ambrose
6. Gabriel
7. Kurt Hendricks

Yeah, I feel like maybe some scenes ended on the cutting room floor or something. He’s barely in it. And since he was acting mostly alone, there were opportunities for him to do more.

Nyquist uttered my favorite line in the John Wick franchise.
“0h.”
Yeah that was pretty good. Keanu has some great lines too.

“Yeah.” - John Wick

“Yeah.” - John Wick 2

“Yeah.” - John Wick 3

“Yeah.” - John Wick 4
And now Anjelica Huston joins their ranks with…

“Fine.” - Ballerina
