MMA fighter fights off four home invaders, kills one, severely injures another

IIRC charl_huntress lives in an unsafe area (Detroit, I think?) and she mentioned here that it's an enclosed property. She has a point that if someone's even made it to her lawn, he likely doesn't have good intentions.
lol...I don't live in an unsafe area and I don't live in Detroit. I do, however, live in Orange County in California. Take that for what it's worth.

Mannnnnnn. Ain't nobody hard out in Orange County. Charl has been e-thuggin everyone on here.

lol...you are right. No one is hard out here, which is why most don't take kindly to strangers...and will shoot you first. Don't believe me...be a stranger out here in OC...

Well, you've got the highest probability of being shot by Mischa Barton, so there's that.

He may be charged but it would never go anywhere, judge would throw it out immediately. That's so obvious, that I don't even know why they talk about him being charged. I suppose makes a better headline

Geez, then who was it? I'm sure it was someone here who was going hard-line about self-defense. My memory usually isn't THAT off!

I go to the OC every once in a while, though not late at night or anything. My impression is that y'alls are extra-crazy drivers, even for LA. :oldrazz:

I live near LA myself, and I'm not trigger-happy...

Irvine was #1 in Top 10 Safest Cities (over 200K in population) in the US last year. So not all of the OC is bad. Although it is one of the more affluent areas, yes....

All the more reason to practice good risk management when knocking on anyone's door. :cwink:

It was probably me, but I live in OC now. I wasn't born in this area. Some areas of OC are very nice. Some are not. Also when people have more property and things to protect they tend to be a mite more touchy about things like strangers on their property. :cwink:

My aunt and uncle live in a not-so-great neighborhood near LA (in the best house on their block, stupidly), and their reaction to getting their yard broken into was to security-feed their house up the wazoo. You can't even open a window there without the alarm going off.

No guns, as far as I know. Too afraid of having it be used against them.

They're likely call-911 trigger-happy though. :oldrazz:

But yeah, if you're trigger-happy without ACTUALLY having good reason to be (like being in an unsafe neighborhood, not just having a house and material possessions), it just makes you look insane. No wonder why people in LA and westward don't like people from the OC. :oldrazz:

Calling 911 is always a good option and a good security system is a good thing. Not everyone needs to be a gun owner, and if you are afraid of the gun being used on you then don't own a gun.

I'm not sure what constitutes someone being trigger happy if they shoot someone they think is in the process of breaking into their home, or threatening their life in someway. The words trigger-happy are tossed around easily, but that's here nor there. If you own a gun then you must accept the fact you may have to use it one day. If you don't think you can do so...probably shouldn't own one then.

I'm from LA, but I live in OC now. I think most people from LA don't like OC people because they assume we have more money...which is usually true in most cases since it cost more to live out here... :cwink:
