Okay, we know Mohinder gives himself powers and gets Super-Strength. I think the writers should make him a Bruce Banner/ Incredible Hulk type Man/Monster character. Given his research and background, I think it would be interesting to see him actually turn into the revolting Monster that he was afraid Syler would be given that he decided to use himself as a Guinea pig for the "powers" serum. He was playing God, and should get some curse. Also, I think the show needs a visual Monster in it's ranks, a wild Card that can turn on the Heroes or be the strength they need at the last minute to save the day.

Just my idea, if they don't go in that direction, so be it.

I think he gets more than super strength. In one of the promos, he's hanging upside-down from a beam like a gymnast. There's also this spoiler: "Mohinder is getting powers, and I can tell you that the powers you see exhibited at the end of the finale are not the end of the story. Before too long we'll see him exhibit a nifty power that he shares with one of the top five comic-book superheroes of all time. Care to guess which hero and which power? (Here's a hint: Homer Simpson had a pig version.)"

Homer had Spider-Pig, of course.

Oooh, good call Koz.

What are Spidey's powers:
- wall-sticking
- spider-sense
- spider-strength (I would also say spider-acrobatics although I don't think that is usually offically mentioned)

Am I missing some? I'm not counting web-shooters.

Spider-strength seems sort of redundant - and a lot of superheroes have super-strength anyhow, so I don't think it is that. Probably either the wall-sticking or the spider-sense. If I had to guess I'd go with spider-sense.

I'm guessing he'll be wall-crawling. Here's the picture of him hanging from a beam. There's another spoiler saying that Mohinder will have to "scale back." The source didn't explain what they meant by that. Some have speculated that he might actually be developing lizard-like attributes.

Maybe he'll become a reptilian creature in the long run. It's comic book dogma, scientist pushes the boundaries, and is either rewarded or cursed.

Examples...

-Bruce Banner/ The Hulk
-Doctor Doom
-Fantastic Four
-Barry Allan/ Silver age Flash
-Curt Connors/ The Lizard
-Swamp Thing
-Seth Brundle/ Brundlefly

Why? We haven't seen any powers so-far that cause outward mutation? Since Mohinder is tempting fate by giving himself and others powers, shouldn't he have to pay for "screwing with the natural order of things"?

I mean the idea of giving himself powers, not the effect it has on him.

I think it's a logical step.

I think I've missed something, I read the episode 1 description but where is the spider stuff coming from and that screencap?

The spider stuff is coming from SpoilerFix, and the screencap is from one of the promos for season three at NBC.com.

I think doing this is horrible IMO.
Yeah, make that the both of us :o
I can't beleive theyre giving him powers. I hope the writers haven't gone out of their minds, its nice to have a nice balance of mutants and humans in the show imo. I guess I still have to be open minded and see how it turns out,eh?

I can't say I'm in love with the idea, but at least it will be more interesting than what we currently watch Mohinder do: being chronically indecisive and angsting over his father issues.

I'm fine with this since I'm pretty sure this won't be a permanent change. Of course, the idea of a hero with a physical mutation of some sort is interesting.

It is interesting, and for this show, fresh. None of the "Supers" have shown any extreme physical mutations. It would be cool if the ones who artificially try to manipulate themselves to get powers would have physical side effects that make them more of the freaks they are afraid of people will see them as.

P.S.- sorry if the title of this little thread may potentially spoil some people about a idea that was pure conjecture on my part.

Adrian Pasdar (Nathan) posted this video on his YouTube account, and it may spoil something about Mohinder's story this season.

Spider webbing? Im not sure if i like the idea of Mohinder having spiderman's powers. It only adds to the people saying that Heroes is a knock off of the Marvel universe(mostly the X-men)

Clare and Adam- Wolverine
DL- Shadowcat
Peter and Sylar- Rogue
Matt and his father- Jean Grey

I know that its hard to avoid some similarities especially when doing something that tread sooo close to the x men franchise but giving mohinder powers like spiderman just is lazy. Maybe he could be an acrobatic, strong, and smart scientist like Beast.

LOL! @ this comment. First you say you don't like how its knocking off Marvel then you say he should be somewhat like Beast, hehe.

In all seriousness though, Id prefer him to have 'beast' like powers than spidey's but thats just me. Actually I would give him any powers. oh well.

the series needs to be more inventive with the powers it gives out. The fact you have repeats and some not properly utilised is a lil off.

the level five thing also sounds a lot like a gimmick, this show is turning into smallville...

^I sort of agree although it is still far superior.
But instead of having repeated powers why not just keep the selected few and expand on their charecters; I think thats a far better move than introducing a gajillion people with powers just to make a cool gimmick "new season, new powers!!!"...its unnecessary imo. And they need to start killing off charecters for good, no one will take it seriously anymore if they don't.
Heck, I liked a lot of charecters...Eden McCain, Charlie, and Isaac Mendez were on my top five during season 1 but they died and thats that. I wish they wouldve used them more but whatever. The whole claire's blood thing is really a lame way to bring back the charecters imo.

But season 3 looks promising and I hope the writers have learned from season 2 so color me excited!

Yea i know what i said, but what i was trying to say was i dont like the fact that they are ripping off but i can understand because its hard to come up with powers without making an X-men comparison. So if theyre going to rip off marvel why not leave some ambiguity to it because if they gave him spider powers it would be very obvious who they got inspired from. Which is why i said Beast because he already is alluded to having gymnast like abilites.

Mohinder = Bruce Banner? I think maybe at the end of Season 3. They still have time to devolope his character.

Wow, looks like I wasn't that far off, I really like how as soon as he found out he can get power,
he took the serum himself, and as soon as he got strong, he took Maya
.
