Moon Knight

Yes this is good. You know if the Blade films have never been made the TV series would have probably been supported much more, but the Blade films (at least 1 & 2) were too much to live up to for Sticky.

Moon Knight on the other hand has nothing to live up to except itself. This could be really cool.

Marvel Pacts with No Equal for Moon Knight

Marvel Studios has pacted with Vancouver-based production company No Equal Entertainment to develop a live-action TV series based on the cult-favorite comic book superhero Moon Knight, reports Variety.

The series will follow soldier of fortune Marc Spector as he becomes the titular vigilante after an encounter with the Egyptian god of vengeance and moon deity.

Hells yeah. I hope they don't go cheap on the outfit, it will make/break the show for many. Awesome news. :woot::up:
 
I'm rapt about this news too, although the possibility of it being shown here in Australia for me are slim (at the moment).
I'm still waiting for the Blade TV series to come out on DVD, in the States. Don't think it'll be making an appearance here on the supermarket shelves any time soon. :(
 
Hopefully they'll keep the mythological angle to it - grounding it in "the real world" where its eternally dark and no-one has any hope is one part of the Blade series that turned me away from it. That and it sounded too much like when they walked across the wodden floor that was supposed to be a concrete one - it sounded just like a wooden floor. The production was poor.

MK on the other hand has the opportunity to be realistic without coating him in white leather. Cant wait to see the promo artowkr for the outfit
 
Now that TV shows are being produced with the same quality as movies, it's about time we had a full-blown superhero series to take advantage of that. Moon Knight is almost perfect, because it's not very CGI heavy, it's more street crime than outrageous supervillainy, its has the psychological issue which superheroes need now, and it will appeal to the superhero movie audiences.
 
Great news, indeed. I hope it doesn't suck balls.

Edit: I did a little research on IMDB. The production company involved doesn't have a whole lot of work in their portfolio but they did have one series that was fairly well received up in Canada (The Collector, which went 3 seasons). Hopefully they'll get some decent talent attached and deliver a quality product that's faithful to the character.
 
And fortunately, because there hasnt been a movie already, and because Spector is a fairly non descript character in terms of secret identity, a certain look isnt required for the actor, so we wont be stuck with someone trying to make a name for themselves and making a piss poor job of it cos they only got the part for having the right look.
 
Awsome news... Its about time this character gets promoted to the major leagues. I cant wait to see some of the story lines. I really hope this is Marvels answer to the failed Blades series....

In my opinion there were just 2 things wrong with the Blade series:

1. Blade wasn't the main character in most (all) episodes. It was like "Vampires: The Show. Featuring Blade"
2. Spike TV



So if MK avoids those 2 things it should be fine. :)
 
Dont know alot about moon knight but im always up for a superhero tv series as long as its good.

Blades biggest problem was that it wasnt that good, like previous posters wrote if it had been made before the films then it probably would've been received a lot better.

Exciting news, the potential is there for an excellent series. Unfortunately there's equal president for the ultimate disapointment (Flash, Tv Hulk n'Spidey, Cap, Thor, etc.) To me Moon Knight needs to be serious, gritty, as well as sometimes downright brutal meaning "no room for camp."
On the other hand there is room for the supernatural to be present along with the criminal aspect.
I love Moon Knight so I'm hoping, no dying, for a successful product. No room for a waterdowned or inaccurate take on the character. Perhaps one part Batman, one part X-Files, one part Night Stalker.
 
I'm stoked. I love the new Moon Knight series. I thought it would make a great movie franchise. As long as they don't jack it up like the whole Blade fiasco, I'm in. I REALLY hope it doesn't go the way of the other stupid comic shows. Don't even get me started on the Crow tv series they did. I think Moon Knight would do better on FX or HBO where they can go gritty with it.

I agree. Spike TV was its biggest problem tho. Had that show been on another network, wed be talking about season 2 and whats to come. As long as Moon Knight stays away from Spike, far far away, it will be a cool show. Cant wait for it.
 
Agreed that Spike sucks. Why spend the money to do a season of the show knowing it won't get CSI numbers. They should've given it another season or two to pull people in and improve. No networks do that now...look at this year's Smith. One of the best shows to debut in a long time, but they spent too much to make it expecting CSI numbers and bagged it after 3 episodes.

I keep holding out hope that another network will pick up Blade and actually make it about BLADE. Not likely though. Just another @*%# up by the television industry.

Soooooo excited about this i can't wait!!! It has great potential but it could flop just as easily let's all cross our fingers:D
