Iron Man More on Iron Man at Comic-Con

Dude I dont appreciate what Favreau did and believe that footage belongs online for all the fans. My father was born in 1957 and has been reading Iron Man while you were probably drinking from a baby bottle. He works over 70 hours a week and doesnt have the time to go to some silly convention in San Diego. My dad deserves to see that footage just as much as you do. You got to see it on a big screen and we see crappy cam footage and you think you have the right to complain? You paid to get in and see it on a big screen so shut up already. The footage should be online in HD but it isnt so quit your crying.

I agree with you about the footage, but it comes down to the studio choice. So I'm in the middle here since I've worked on both ends of the spectrum.

Yeah man I understand its just this guy is really getting on my nerves and I rarely post.

And just like me, you, your dad, and everyone else, the movie comes out for EVERYONE on May 2, 2008.

So boohoo to you.

And I'm not complaining. I'm annoyed that people are illegally posting stolen footage on this website.

And I'm annoyed that people, fans that require immediate gratification, are watching crappy fan-cam footage instead of waiting for better quality trailers and clips that will be online in a matter of WEEKS.

It's just a clip-I don't care if it was in black and white. I just want to see Iron Man fly. I never require immediate gratification, I can wait-I've waited over 20 years.

Best believe Ima give the studio they money when time comes.

Exactly I will be paying $10 just to see that movie May 2nd and anybody who will be paying to see that film May 2nd deserves special treatment. We pay for the comics that keep them in business!!

Well since you deserve the movie, why don't you just download it on the internet for free, since you already pay for the comics and everything?

Because I am no thief and neither are the others on here who watched that cam footage!!

How about a GREAT COMPROMISE.

People that pay for Comic-con get the full unedited teasers so it makes the money they spend worthwhile, but for those of us that live in Smalltown, USA and can't for whatever reason go, they release an edited version of the footage.

Although, I hope people that pay for Cons, do so more for the love of comics than so they can see four minute footage and hang it over people's heads. That's kinda lame.

It's called a teaser trailer which will definitely be released very soon. Thank you, your welcome.

I go to a con for everything and because they are fun. I think people that post and watch the bootleg people online ruin part of that. For years I was avid about this and going to SDCC to see stuff like this, I loved the reports, but it was even better to be there in person. To see everything live, and to go to the booths and see what the movie, toy, and comic companies are offering.

Back in the day, I was fine with the comprehensive recaps of the footage, now it's like, oh in one minute all the footage that they said was made for just us can be viewed by anyone.

TheVileOne makes up the 4% of the people on the superherohype homepage poll. He believes he is somehow better then us and feels we dont deserve to see this footage because we didnt go to some stupid event. That footage belongs to every fan who is a fan of Iron Man. It should have been put online and I am very glad it made its way online VileOne. Now you cant gloat and brag and rub it in our faces that you saw it and we didnt. Mmmm victory tastes good!!!

Amen.

VileOne is simply pissed that he cant rub it in our faces.
And when have I ever done that? I certainly didn't do that in years past when people were begging me for questions about the footage I saw.

Is it wrong that I have this opinion and maybe I think the organizations and companies can do what they want with their own property and run the conventions how they want to? I abided by the rules at the convention, just like I feel everyone else should because I respect the convention and I want movie companies to continue bringing panels and special reel footage to the event. If you want to begrudge me of that, fine.

But you know, what happens when companies bring footage, fans overreact and bash it on the internet and then companies decide to pull out of Comic Con because they find it too risky? It's only a matter of time before that happens if this crap continues.

And when have I ever done that?

"It upsets me because this is why I go to Comic Con, and the point is that they say this is made EXCLUSIVELY for us".

Of course, now that the cat is out of the bag, who can stop it from doing the rounds thru the Internet wires?

I only stated the truth. This is what Favreau himself said.

And since when what other people say is necessarily the "truth"?

This is a silly argument. The studio shows the footage for the people at the con. They were told not to record it.

Anything online is illegal.

People should be glad all they do is take down the footage and don't crack down with legal action.

I was at SDCC and I have no problem with watching the footage again and again online.

From a purely marketing standpoint alone, this is not even a consideration.

Often films, usually comic adaptations, don't screen for critics-but's that's for lack of faith in the final product.

Then I'd rather be a criminal than a comformist.

Ditto. There's a difference between illegal and immoral. "But, They say it's wrong...so it MUST be wrong, right?" Yeah, totally, buy into that "No-No" sticker they slap on **** and wonder why people keep doing the "wrong" thing. This has only had a positive impact. Thanks to the fan reaction to this, the studio is pushing for an official teaser way before they originally planned. It's not like everyone and their mom is seeing this leaked stuff, but obviously enough people are and enough people dig it.

I've just seen the footage, and WOW! It looks AWESOME! The tone of the movie seems just right, I have absolute faith in Robert Downey Jr., and the action looks like it's going to be fan-****ing-tastic.

I swear, I've got a chubby. I can't wait.

i think the proble mis that teh movei is not finished and if you watch the footage very quick then you cna not found out hte mistakes. if this footage goes online then it will look very unfinished and this is what studios fear.

Don't they usually test how people react to the footage and then decide if they want to keep it a trial balloon

I am just playing devil's advocate here but what is the downside of the bootleg footage leaking online?
