I think the thing that is bugging me the most is that they left behind any and all asian themed elements and completely whitened the series up with this film concept.

I would have been all for it if they actually focused more on the asian elements that the series carries.

How did they leave the asian themed elements behind? The clip was a short film they left lots of elements out of focus...due to time and cost. Could you explain what you mean?

Personally I thought allthough it wasn't the MK I know and loved growing up it was however balanced within reality and gritty you can if allowing your imagination come to see where he would have gone once away from the earth realm. I would have liked to have known from the director of the short if once in MKs realm the fantasy elements would have been highlighted to seperate it further from the earth world.

how would going from earth to out-world change Barakka's butchered appearance and taped on blades?

it wouldn't? The creator just has a whacked vision, that's all. It's flawed, horrible, and should never be viewed by a human eye again. They need to take that footage and freaking burn it

It would've fine if he had focused on earthrealm characters completely. Like using Kano and Kabal instead of Reptile and Baraka.

I appreciate your opinion Mr B, what I love about the fact that we disagree is it shows people are talking about it and opinions do seem very split which can only be good news because it shows how much interest there is in getting this film done..and done the right way!

I didn't say it would change their appearance I was more thinking along the lines of how would he step out of reality in out-world and how would that change the look of some characters once the fantasy elements took effect.

I was thinking the same thing .... if he didn't have the resources to properly treat the mystical-type characters, then just represent the more human ones.

What else would u expect them to show. Scorpion was in an interogation room the whole time.

What does everybody think about the new Mortal Kombat: Rebirth idea?

I think this is the right way to go.

Ah man would have been cool for a film but webisodes still pretty cool.

The webisodes will lead UP to a movie.:cwink:

On one of Comingsoon.net's connecting sites, it says so. Can't wait!

they better bring back Johnny Cage. what a slap in the face to fans killing him off. this character always gets the worst end of the stick :cmad:

Where it say will lead to movie article I read only stated that wb premire has only greenlight the ten webisodes.

If I remember correctly he was the new character introduced in MK:A

I guess I need to catch up on my Mortal Kombat characters. The only ones I know are from the first four Mortal Kombat games. My suggestion is to keep the Mortal Kombat characters to at least those in the first two games.

They need to:

-Keep Johnny Cage alive (at least for the first half of the series/movie)

-Show the audience some mythical elements instead of balls-to-the-wall realism

-Just my opinion but it wouldn't hurt to throw "techno syndrome" in there for fun
