Most anticipated comic book movie of next year?

Iron Man. Incredible Hulk is a close second. No wait! Watchmen!

2008 is going to be awesome. :woot:

Iron Man

I have some concerns about The Dark Knight, and Iron Man looks awesome and is fresh.

Dark Knight, because it's off the heels of a highly successful first film, so it has a brand new legion of fans coming onbaord alongside the Batman fans, myself included, that are already here.

TDK is to 2008 what SM3 was to 2007. However I hope the results will be different and in Batman's favor.

I am concerned they will go out of their way to make the Joker not in anyway similar to Jack's and make him too out there.

Well TIH will be pretty amazing I think, the cast and director suggest that.

IM could be good, however the director doesn't leave me with much confidence, although the cast is amazing.

TDK does not interest me, I was not a fan of BB and dislike Nolan's work, my expectations are not very high for this.

Watchmen will probably style over substance due to snyder.

Argh, hard to choose. I'll go with TDK because I've already seen Nolan's take on the character and enjoyed it (the advantage of being a sequel). I still can't wait for the other films either but I'm still unsure how they're going to turn out, especially The Incredible Hulk.

Whether it's a good thing or not, I'm actually quite interested in seeing a darker portrayal of Joker that in no way comes off as a carbon copy of Nicholson.

It'll add to the luster of the Batman mythology.

I don't want a copy of Jack's Joker...but I am afraid that the Joker will not be funny but just twisted (which I think is the wrong way to approach him).

The Joker is twisted and disturbingly funny. That is how he is supposed to be!

2008 is definitely looking very exciting...of course I said that about 2007, and that proved to be pretty dispointing.
But 2008 has a lot of interesting stuff going on. I think I am just too curious to see what they are going to do with Hulk, so that is #1 for me, but Ironman is right behind that. The mix of talent going on in those movies has me very anxious.
On the DC front, I'm of course looking forward to TDK...and Watchmen is for 2008?! wow! 08 just got even better! Hopefully it all will be good enough to make up for 2007's lackluster turn.

I'm excited to see The Dark Knight, Iron Man, and The Incredible Hulk.

...and if you believe Fox, Wolverine is supposed be released next summer too.

Yeah, I see exactly what you're saying...

Makes me love Mark Hamill's Joker even MORE!

2007 was pretty ill-Quantity over Quality sure, but it got me into a theater over 6 times. That ain't happened since the '90's.

I think Nolan will put a new spin on the Joker just like he did with Batman.

This is the order I predict the films to be in terms of quality, the first one being the best. Coincidentally, it's also the order they will most likely be in at the box office.

1. The Dark Knight
2. Iron Man
3. Incredible Hulk

I think TDK is going to have the best box office reception because people have already seen what Nolan can do with Batman in the first one, and are willing to see this one based on that. Iron Man will probably be number 2 at the box office, because the general public isn't really familiar with Iron Man (compared to Batman, Superman, Hulk, Spider-Man, etc). The Incredible Hulk won't do as good because I think the general public hated the first one and don't know what this one is really all about.

Yes it does...best Joker outside of the comic (even if it is just some animation and a voice).

I think I have to agree. Despite the product, 2007 did get me excited to go to the movies again, and that hasn't happened in a while.

anymore cbm's beside the ones listed above coming out
this thread COULD use a poll

I liked the 2007 line-up (though really only SM3 was great). Next year should rock though!

The movie that I'm most CURIOUS about would be the Hulk, simply cos I don't know what the hell it is yet. Movie I'm most looking forward to, Batman.

Warners hasn't announced a release date for Watchmen yet. It might be released in the fall of 2008 or early 2009. They certainly had great success with 300 as a spring release; I could see them following suit with Watchmen. But if Watchmen is released in 2008 then my order of anticipation for next year's CBMs is:

1. Watchmen
2. The Dark Knight
3. Iron Man
4. Hellboy 2: The Golden Army
5. The Incredible Hulk
6. Wanted
7. Wolverine
8. Whiteout

This is of course subject to change depending on whether some CBMs, like perhaps Watchmen or Wolverine are delayed to 2009, and whether some others, like The Spirit, land on the schedule for 2008.
