It’s safe to say the villains of the DCEU have been on the poor side so far. Zod was a good start IMO. But since 5en things have gone a down hill. However, I feel a couple of the DCEU villains get more criticism than they deserve. So was wondering if there are fans of the villains that everyone else seems to hate but you like them a lot.

Vote away people and let’s see who wins

I chose Lex. The Mark Zuckerberg becomes evil genius was oddly prescient and a legitimately modernized take on the evil CEO. His psychosis actually did make sense. I think a lot of people just focus on his horrible dialogue and lack of comic book inspiration and conclude it was all garbage, and I don't think that's true.

I haven't really enjoyed any of the villains on the list. I'll go with Doomsday even though the design was awful.

I hated him a ton first but his dialogue is actually quite clever in parts. He has grown on me through subsequent viewings.

None of them have been great or memorable, but Zod was decent for what he was. Not a patch on Stamp's Zod, but he is the only decent villain the DCEU has offered up so far.

Luthor, Joker, Ares, Doomsday......its hard to believe they messed up such big name DC villains so badly all in the same franchise.

Viola Davis's Amanda Waller.

He wasn't channeling Zuckerberg. He was channeling Jimmy Olsen, who he first auditioned for and what inspired Zack to think he was a fit for Luthor.

The only villain worth a dang has been Zod, who was great.

Roose Bolton from Justice League!

Although I must say, I’m pretty disappointed Party Man wasn’t playing during that scene.

For me definitely Ares well David Thewlis his performance in Wonder Woman is underrated and why? For the simple reason that his character basically poses as a human when in actuality he is really the God of War. His character is that of Greek mythology and no one really rates Ares. I know I sure as hell do and he at least to me has been one of the most memorable villains in the short history of this DCEU.

Enchantress was superbly creepy. I'd like to see her once more. Dr. Poison was complex and well-acted.

I vote for the English dude in the bank from Justice League.

I guess I’d go with Ares and Dr. Poison, which is ironic because they are villains that appear in the only DCEU movie that received an overwhelmingly positive reception. Although Ares’ final design leaves something to be desired, it was still an interesting take on the god of war, and Dr. Poison was both sympathetic and sadistically evil. At least that’s how I felt.

Other than that... Zod was okay, but something about Shannon’s performance just felt off to me, like he didn’t take the material seriously at certain points. Boomerang was also okay, even though Suicide Squad was crap. Viola Davis could have been GREAT as Waller, but she was failed by terrible writing, especially where her character was concerned.

Though I voted for Doomsday, I also think Ares was a bit under rated. His final appearance certainly needed work, but Thewlis's performance seems to be very over looked.

Zod I wouldn't say is underrated because I think he is actually overall liked. I am going with Lex. Lex's portrayal had issues, but it also had things I liked. I thought he was a much better villain than either Enchantress or Steppenwolf. Hardly worst villain ever in a CBM.

Dr. Poison comes in a close 2nd with me

Never felt Zod was underrated and the rest of that list is perfectly rated as either there, serviceable or in most cases bad (personally).

I would have put Faora.

Zod is very underrated in my book. I think he's the 2nd best villain of the shared universe era (MCU/DCEU/Foxverse) behind Fassbender's Magneto. The bar hasn't been set very high though, but I thought he was really good, bordering on great but not quite there.

Eiseberg was playing the Birthright Lex Luthor. It's that simple.

I wasn’t going to include Zod initially as I agree he is rated quite highly. But the last few years I have seen some posters lump him as one of the bad villains so that compelled me to include him.

Faora is pretty much loved by everyone so I didn’t include her.

Zod was great. I think audiences wanted the crowd pleasing Stamp stuff, and were probably disappointed Shannon played it 100% straight.
