Movie based on a Villian's perspective and not superhero

I would love to see a movie like this. Instead of Superman, or batman or the Avengers...

It would be awesome to see carnage from a different perspective. We could get a Thanos stand alone film, or The Joker. Instead of rebooting franchises and getting the same rehashed stories, do you think it's possible DC/Marvel Etc. would keep a franchises continuity and introduce villain's as the main storyline.

Using Villians in standalone films would be a great way to create prequels or lead to sequels or a final film of a trilogy. Gives the non-comic book reader a better sense of how power these villains really are since most of the time they only get one movie.
