Movie Roles that would have been amazing if someone else was Cast

Good God! I wish someone else had been cast in the 2001 Planet of the Apes movie other than Mark Wahlberg.
He was painfully bad in that role. So incredibly unfitting!
Every scene was absolute torture.

That movie could have been amazing. I was pretty heartbroken coming out of that movie theater. Kudos to Rick Baker though for doing an incredible job with the ape make-up.

Anybody would have been better in that role than Mark Wahlberg....anybody!

Spacey could of made a great Luthor. He was good at what he was given but he still clung to Hackman.

Look at Spacey in the Usual Suspects for God's sake. Like Luthor in the sense to be able to manipulate people in a way he does the best.

Yeah, I really have to disagree with Nivek on that one. Spacey made an alright Luthor in SR, but had he been in a better Superman film, it would've been glorious.

Hayden Christensen was FINE as Anakin Skywalker

You guys just don't get Anakin who he REALLY was meant to be, in GEORGE LUCAS' head. NOT yours, NOT any Fanboys, but the Star Wars CREATOR's own!

He is no Epitomy of Villian/Killer, he is a pretty/talented Jedi-Boy grow up conflicted, and influenced by great evil (Palpatine), and succumbed to it, in the end, due to the lost of his Loves (Qui-Gon, Mom, Asoka, and Padme) and in the end it was HIM who overthrowed Palatine, bring Balance to the Force!

To cast a Aaron Stanford would be mischaracterizing the real Anakin George Lucas had in his mind!

I am perfectly aware that that's how Lucas intended Anakin, but the combination of Christensen's wooden as a board acting and Lucas' ridiculously melodramatic and corny dialogue is what people are complaining about, not the character itself.

Thats all fine and well, but that doesnt automatically make it good.

He might have been bad, but what would be the point really? It would have still sucked.

It also need to be believable that a Hot-looking Jedi is married to a Beautiful Queen (Padme)

Aaron Standford is NOT, sorry. Hayden had the LOOKS!!!

From a good-looking himself to this

I honestly thought based on LOOKS alone, the casting of Hayden as Anakin WAS the PERFECT choice!!!

But you guys look for more than looks, well I guess I can understand, but WHO else?

I know it's not Aaron Stanford!

Ditto on this!

I think Johnny Depp could step in and give just as good a Joker performance. It may be more like Ceasar Romaroes Joker but still be just as intense and amazing.

I think one miscast movie role has too be Frodo Tom Cruise in the Last Samurai. I think Viggo Mortensen would have made that an oscar winning role.

I think people are going too far stills with the uninspiring casting choices. Hewath's Joker's great because it's a different take yet is still bery much the character. That's the kind o Joker I want to see in a MOVIE. People are thinking of Penn or Glover or Bettany to play the Joker form the comics. I don't want to see that on screen per se. I want to see something fresh and Nolan and Ledger did that.

If he hadn't had died, Brandon Lee would've been a great 'Neo' in the Matrix flims.

I can't remember where I read it (I've seen it said on many sites) but I believe the Wachowskis crafted The Matrix with Brandon Lee in mind for the lead role.

-At a point, Will Smith was considered for Neo. I would have liked him way more than flat, uncharismatic Keanu Reeves.

-Edward Norton was the original choice to play Vince (the hitman) in Collateral. Tom Cruise gave one of his best performances in the role, but Norton would have been amazing.

-Speaking of Norton, he, Matt Damon, and Guy Pearce were all considered to play Daredevil, and any of them would have been much better than Ben Affleck.

Ohhh man...I never even thought about that! God, he would have been absolutely outstanding in that role. Jeez...man you just touched my soul, Duneboy. Brandon Lee might even had been cast if he had lived.
That has got to be the most perfect casting for a role I have ever heard. God, what could have been....
Wow.

I think Spider-Man could've been way better with someone else instead of Tobey Maguire. You know, someone with more charisma, humor, and energy. Tobey didn't carry any of the three movies that well. For a movie that calls itself Spider-Man, the movies were more about Peter Parker.

First off, this is not to say that Tobey was perfect or that the Spider-Man movies were perfect or even that they were great Spider-Man stories, but every time I see this, my brain twitches uncontrollably. Ever since the character was created, the best Spider-Man stories have always been about Peter Parker, and there's never been as much of a difference (if any) between Parker in and out of costume as there is in other heroes.

One of the lamest posts ever. Sorry, nothing personal, but defending Lucas and Christensen? Insane...

And having Aaron Stanford play Anakin instead of Hayden Christensen would have probably conveyed all this better.

Like I said, he is NOT that good-looking guy to believable as a nice guy and someone marry the Queen!

I am not saying he is ugly, but he is certainly NO model like Hayden! And, he looks like he just play Bad guys!
