It's really impossible to tell. Given the "right" time/money/people/whatever, anything can be remade or rebooted at some point. For example, I never would have guessed "Can't Buy Me Love" (the Patrick Dempsey flick from the 80s) would be remade, but it was (as "Love Don't Cost a Thing" with Nick Cannon). Another one is "Overboard" (one of my favorite 80s movies, starring Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn). I see that and I see a movie that I think is really funny, and have enjoyed watching for most of my life. I don't see it as a "classic" in most senses of the word (like the Wizard of Oz, for example), and I don't see it as a potential franchise (like Halloween, Nightmare on Elm St., etc), so I don't really understand why it should be remade, but apparently it is going to be.
Some remakes make sense. Those are the ones that could be someone else's vision of a classic story (like various takes on Peter Pan or Robin Hood), potential franchises (like Ghostbusters, which I don't want to be remade), or movies that could actually greatly benefit from modern filmmaking (like Highlander, one remake I could get behind).
I know I'm rambling, but what I mean is... some remakes/reboots make sense. Lots don't. Nothing is safe. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a Clerks remake in 10 years.
