one of them. Who here has this happened to? Where they at one point
liked the movie but then got fed up with it and started to really dislike it and get sick and tired of it whenever someone talked about and whenever it was showing somewhere.

I have some I would like to name.

Terminator 2:It was on television so much that I ended up disliking it.

Star Wars movies that aren't prequels:Too much materialistic stuff
is connected to it and too many people like the movies.

The Dark Knight:That speaks for it's self I would say.

Identify your pick or picks,if anything. Other explainations for your pick or picks are welcome.

T2?

T2 was yeterday on tv. and you know what? i saw it again. and i will do it again and again.

Lord of the Rings. My friend would go on and on about it everyday at school.

Star Wars

I still own and for the most part can enjoy the original trilogy but don't watch it as often as I did when I was growing up.

Personally I think Star Wars the franchise is burnt out and had it's time. I doubt anything in the future will ever dethrone it in terms of having such an obsessed and rabid fanbase for decades but I want it to finally die.

I stopped caring about Star Wars when the prequels came out. It doesn't mean that I won't show the Originals to my kids when I have them :) They are still classics.

I never had a chance to like Napoleon Dynamite. It got so much kick from the MTV marketing machine, all my peers latched onto it mindlessly. I've tried watching it, but can't bring myself to enjoy it. It's not bad, it's just not that good.

Slumdog Millionaire is another one. It's a good movie. It's a very good movie. It just wasn't the best movie last year, and not that original, IMO. I think the fact, too, that I watched it with my ex two days after the break up didn't help, especially when Jamal gets Latika at the end.

The Dark Knight for me.

-The Road Warrior. One of my friends was obsessed with it for about four months and by the time he finally showed it to me there was no chance I would love it like he does. It's a good movie, but not close to great.

-The Dark Knight. It's a good movie too but hyped to beyond death.

-The Boondock Saints sort of fits. I found it enjoyable (although I haven't seen it in years) but a bunch of people told me it was a great movie and it was really just OK.

-300 was cool to see in the theater, but it's a pretty bad movie and I got tired of people I know saying it was good. Especially when these same people didn't see the exponentially better Sin City.

-Maybe Napoleon Dynamite. But I don't know if I got put off by its fan popularity or if I just realized it was that good a movie once I became a more discerning viewer.

-Donnie Darko. Had too many dumb high school kids talk about how awesome it was. I remember thinking it was good but haven't seen it in years so I don't really know.

-Edward Scissorhands. I saw it for the first time when I was 21 and thought it was good. But it's not half as profound as people who saw it when they were under 18 seem to think.

Everyone is all hyped over 2012 but I don't think it looks good.

I'm sick of hearing about Twilight/ New Moon and whatever else goes with it.

Napolean Dynamite , I didnt really like it tha tmuch to begin with and all I could hear about was how great it was.

The Dark Knight. The way people talked about, you'd think it was better than sex, but when I watched it.....nothing. I actually got so bored that I stopped watching it 3/4 of the way through, and I had to fast-forward through some of it! I could sit through Batman and Robin and stomach every bad Mr. Freeze joke in it till the very end, but I couldn't make it through The Dark Knight--what does that tell you?

Twilight and New Moon. I will not even try to watch them. They have gotten so much exposure--they're worse than all the Harry Potter movies combined! Not to mention the fact that the market is over-saturated right now with vampire shows that have almost the exact same plot as them, and all those shows are rammed down my throat on the cover of magazines and in entertainment news, too.

The DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons. Again, too much hype for too little movie. I caught some of The DaVinci Code on television and.....eh....

Harry Potter. It got so bad that i refused to watch anything related to potter and also decided not to watc the first movie in the cinema.
Thank god that i realised how wrong i was when i first saw the trailer for the 2nd movie. I actually laughed out loud over the scene where ROn's owl smashes into a window and decided to give the movie a chance.
I consider myself a big Potter fan now but yeah sometimes overhyping something can definately be a buzzkill

Although i will never in my life watch anything Twilight related. Watching the New Moon trailer with 2012 was bad enough. I know for myself that i consider the twilight franchise absolute ****.

Anyway back to the topic

Twilight and all future sequels
And all Tarantino movies post Jackie Brown .

Man, another thread like this. :( Why focus on negative things like this? Just be happy people, be happy.

This thread will morph into a Dark Knight hate thread.
-The Dark Knight. It's a good movie too but hyped to beyond death.

The haters talk about the Dark Knight more than the lovers, you know its true.

TDK delivered after the hype. some need to accept that a lot of people in 2008 liked TDK. only the hardcore fans talk about TDK now. the same like with Indiana jones or Incredible Hulk.

everytime a movie makes a lot of money then someone gets sick of it. dooh.

The detractors talk about it more, Im sure. But then complain about all the talking.

Very true. And dark b had a good point to. I love how the 1/100 people that hate TDK flock to internet forums to act as if everyone really did not care for it. Some may truly not care for it, but most I think just hate it because its popular, and some think it makes you look more "intelligent" to hate something that a majority likes.

TDK is in the ranks now of films like Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Star Wars, where the critics/public/hard core fans loved it for the main majority. But with today's internet, some try to get everyone to think otherwise. Oh well.

I don't hate TDK, my main problem is with the fanboys. It's fine that people really enjoy it. But many act like it's the greatest movie ever and think that their opinions are the only right one. I don't go near the Bat-boards for a reason.

If I like a movie then it doesn't matter what other people think about it. I would never stop liking a film just because of other peoples discussions about it or how hyped it becomes.

LOL. Welcome to the Internet. I'm a huge fanboy, and most of us are not that bad. The thing is trolls that hate it or want everyone to hate it, go in and stir up the pot which makes things look worse. I understand that this is by far not going to be everyone's favorite movie ever. And that's cool. But there are idiots everywhere, on the Iron Man forums, Spiderman forums, they are everywhere. Don't let that detract you from the many people that are not like that.

I know that. Just that if you were areound the Bat-Boards in the past year, it was REALLY BAD.

That's why if you notice I stay away from the Bat boards after that, and prior to the next. With Begins, after it came out I spread my thoughts, then stayed in hiding until filming began on TDK. The reason? You do get a lot of odd people in there at those times. So I will not really fully enter the Bat-Boards again until filming starts on the third.
