Mr. Freeze one liners...

I love that scene. Arnold comes across as so wonderfully driven by his wife's death. I think that's the best set of lines for Freeze in that scene, right there.

"Their bones will turn to ICE! Their blood with freeze in my hands!"

I think I'm the only one here who loves Arnold enough to love this performance of his. He's obviously trying to be funny with the one liners and he succeeds. He's honestly one of the few things I like about B&R. When he's serious, he's wonderful, menacing or even slightly moving.

I love Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I've been praising Arnie's Freeze from the get go. You could tell he was legitimately having fun playing Freeze. To be honest, under Burton's direction Arnie would've been great. I would've loved to have seen the ubermensch of Arnie's Freeze vs. the everyman of Keaton's Batman.

"Prepeah foh ah beetter hahvest. Wintah haz come at lahst".

you know what i find funny? is that no matter how much fans hate this batman, it seems everyone is always talking about it, whether about how funny it is, or anything, it just is never forgotten it seems, lol.

another favorite ice pun: "MURCY??? im saury, but ma condition has left me COLD to ya pleeze of mercy" and "can you be COLD batman?"

Ditto. I put B&R under two categories - BAD Batman movie, and AWESOME Arnie movie. His one liners in this movie are up there with his all-time classics like "Let off some steam, Bennett!"

Speaking of which, I really want an editing program on my computer because I'm dying to put together a compilation video of Arnold's greatest moments/lines.

But anyways, he really seems to be having fun in the role, which is always refreshing.

Hello, Bruce.
Can you be cold, Batman? You have
eleven minutes to thaw the bird.
What will you do, chase the villain
or save the boy?

Your emotions make you weak. That is
why this day is mine.
Live or die Bruce. Make your choice.

I just thought of this, and actually, I think that it's quite clever. What do you guys think?

I thought of a way to use the ice puns (some of them anyway) without making it campy. Headlines on newspapers and TV news reports. "Ice Man Cometh," "Cold town," "Icy demeanor," "Batman kicks some ice," it's exactly the kind of asinine bs that the press would just lap up.

Mr. Freeze was probably the most wildy inconsistantly written character in Batman & Robin. At one end, he's sarcastic and cracking jovial like one-liners, while at the other end, they have him brooding over his wife's illness and his inability to live a normal life (i.e. can't go outside of subzero enivornments without his bulky suit). It was as if, they only incorporated the Nora Fries angle because that's what most people (at least casual fans) think the most in regards to Mr. Freeze (since Batman: TAS was still fresh in the public's minds).

The one-liners and ice puns have always been a part of Mr. Freeze, from his first appearance.

The Mr. Freeze of Batman & Robin was a combination of his early appearances, the 60s show and the animated series. Something there for every fan. I guess you can't please everyone. :o

This thread has made me want to watch B&R again 0_0
On the topic, when I was little, Batman Forever and B&R were the first Batman movies I ever watched and I absolutely LOVED them. So, for all of their bad rep, I will say that they were what pulled me into the character, and I'm sure I'm not the only one whom that's true for.
But of course, on the other end, at that young age, there would have been no way I would have been able to appreciate all of the mastery that goes into one of Nolan's movies.

These one liners are all win

Still corny, but that is what makes it :funny:

Schwarzenegger's performance was really one of the worst things ever on a screen. He couldn't do an evil laugh for his life. I'd say his Mr. Freeze should be placed down there along with the worst performances ever produced by a human being. These one-liners are the only redeeming element.

Those scenes with him and Bruce were very good. I didn't mind Clooney at all as Wayne, and he even had a few good moments as Batman.

I need an Arnold Mr Freeze soundboard at my disposal, would be amazing.
