MS says the Wii is for kids

It seems to depend on the MS employee, some of the bigwigs over there have been praising the innovation of the Wii, and then others say stuff like this.

Eh, what'cha gonna do....Nintendo is finally making a huge ding in the market.

"We don't feel like the Wii customer and the Xbox customer are the same thing," Rodman reportedly said. "We think that as soon as the Wii customer turns 14, they want something else."

I'm 21. I have a Wii. I have a 360. There goes his theory. :o

I'm 27, I bought a Wii, and while I also want a 360....the Wii has kept me busy enough that I haven't even thought about getting the other system yet.

I'm 20 and love my Wii, and DS.
I do want the xBox360, but at the minute, I have no rush to go out and get one.

Same way I feel.....and yea, I forgot about the DS, which also keeps me quite happy.

How wierd, Nintendo so far owns me this generation.:csad:

Eh, I don't find it weird. I always have the Nintendo System as my second.
Well, it was first until the playstation.

It's weird how I'm not at all interested in Ps3.

As someone said above, the instant it poses a challenge. Should come as a shock to no-one.

I'm the same way, the PS2 was my game of choice, but the PS3 just hasn't grabbed me since it's release.

The only reason I even remotely want a PS3 is for the new Ratchet and Clank game...but am I willing to spend 600 bucks on one game....I'm thinking that's a no.:yay:

I'm 29 and have both a Xbox 360 and a Wii, I got a 360 because I found one at just the right time, when I received my tax return, wasn't really searching for it, however, I actively looked for a Wii for 5 months before finding and getting one. Guess I'm an exception to his theory

^You got your tax return already? When did you file? I'm still waiting.

I filed mine in mid-feb sometime, and had the return deposited at about the beginning of March.:ninja:

im 21 and i own a 360 it fits my gaming needs alot more then the wii. in a way i can see why MS would say its for kids. if you want simple games etc the wii is for you. but if you want a real gaming experience(cinematic type of stuff) then the 360 ( i would mention ps3 but meh) is for you. it really depends on what machine fits your gaming needs.

Those are the kinds of comments that make me want to get rid of my 360. Honestly, why do the guys in the business feel the need to smack talk through the media? Just let the fans battle it out while they just focus on making their product better.

PS3 and 360 are like the big stupid jocks showcasing who's dick is bigger. Wii is the indie kid that's been around the block just chilling on the wall like, "whateva."

I suppose the linear level design, uber bloody shooters with pathetic B-stories that even George Lucas would laugh at are for adults, then? Right.

I'm 18, and I'm a Wii-only owner. I like games with sophisticated and polished gameplay mechanics, with a creative approach to level design and intuitive control. Nintendo delivers. Microsoft does not.

Nice try. Oh, and that's pretty balzy of them to say, considering the sad state of affairs they have in Japan. By releasing a statement such as this, they're singling out an entire country. Not to mention, they're not doing too hot in console sales right now abroad.

Well, I used last years tax return to buy a 360. I usually do my taxes as soon as I get my W-2's since I know I'll be getting money instead of having to pay it. I use TurboTax.com, I get the money deposited directly into my bank account within two weeks of filing.

What makes you think that everything on the Wii is "Simple gaming" and only the 360 have a "Real gaming experience."

Games like Trauma Center: Second Opinion, Legend of Zelda: TTP, Elebits, Godfather: Blackhand Edition, Red Steel, Scarface: The World is Yours, Spider-Man 3....plus some of the upcoming games such as Super Paper Mario, SSBB, Metroid Prime 3, and Super Mario Galaxy are not simply created or plain simple games.

When games are more on the cartoony side does not necessarily equal simple. These games are everybit as involved and enjoyable as games that are released on the other systems. People enjoying and sometimes preferring these games to ones coming out on the other systems are no less "Real" gamers than anyone else.

It's great that you prefer the 360, but these factless opinions of yours are just plain silly sometimes.

I'm in the same boat as you guys, except I don't even WANT a 360. I just want the Wii, nothing else thanks.

As long as it's not the emo kid, I'm cool with that.

I take you have a distaste for Sony then?

Either way. I'm 22 Wii/360 equipped. Hardly would I say something like the Wii is for just children.
