I actually really like their choices in the "best performance" category. :)

The fact that they list Alba next to Bale as "Best Hero" nominees is just....

God, MTV is TRASH.

God, MTV is TRASH.

It's a filler nomination, G. :o

I stopped when I saw Red Eye in Best Performance...

Why are people taking this seriously?

The MTV movie awards have always been meant as an alternative to the seriousness of regular award shows, heck that's why they are in the summer and have categories like best kiss and best fight. It's only meant to be fun.

What I would pick:

BEST MOVIE
"King Kong" (Universal Pictures)

BEST PERFORMANCE
Steve Carell - "The 40-Year Old Virgin" (Universal Pictures)
Write-in: Christain Bale "Batman Begins"

BEST COMEDIC PERFORMANCE
Vince Vaughn - "Wedding Crashers" (New Line Cinema)

BEST ON-SCREEN TEAM
Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Seth Rogen & Romany Malco -- "The 40-Year Old Virgin" (Universal Pictures)

BEST VILLAIN Ralph Fiennes -- "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (Warner Bros. Pictures)

BREAKTHROUGH PERFORMANCE
Romany Malco -- "The 40-Year Old Virgin" (Universal Pictures)

BEST HERO
Daniel Radcliffe -- "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (Warner Bros. Pictures)

BEST FIGHT
Kong vs. the Planes -- "King Kong" (Universal Pictures)
Write-in: Kong vs. the V-Rexes (how is this not the fight nominated?)

What most likely will win:

BEST MOVIE
"The 40-Year Old Virgin" (Universal Pictures)

BEST PERFORMANCE
Jake Gyllenhaal - "Brokeback Mountain" (Focus Features)
or
Steve Carell - "The 40-Year Old Virgin" (Universal Pictures)

BEST COMEDIC PERFORMANCE
Vince Vaughn - "Wedding Crashers" (New Line Cinema)

BEST ON-SCREEN TEAM
Vince Vaughn & Owen Wilson -- "Wedding Crashers" (New Line Cinema)

BEST VILLAIN
Hayden Christensen -- "Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith" (20th Century Fox)

Jake Gyllenhaal & Heath Ledger -- "Brokeback Mountain" (Focus Features)

BEST FRIGHTENED PERFORMANCE
Paris Hilton -- "House of Wax" (Warner Bros. Pictures)

their nominees don't piss me off, in fact most of them are pretty good... what does irk me, though, is that looking at that list, i can already tell who is going to win, and it'll be all the wrong people/movies/etc.

man Batman Begins and Sin City both in the Best film category that sucks :down

true. very true.

I've always enjoyed the MTV Movie Awards, they're fun and entertaining. Any word on who is hosting this year?

Why is Star Wars not in best film???? it should be there, but its got to get best fight and of course i voted Selene in best hero as she is.

In the tradition of the MTV movie awards, someone has to kiss someone else of the same sex onstage.

I'm guessing it's going to be Ledger and Gyllenhall.

I'm guessing they are going to win anyway, although I think it should go to Rosario and Clive.

There's nothing fun about seeing the words 'best' and 'Jessical Alba' in a catagory.

Kong vs. The Planes?!

What about Kong vs. The T-Rexes?!

I agree with a lot of those. Except: Fight HAS to go to Hayden and Ewan for me.

And I wish they had nominated Cillian for his Red Eye performance as Best Villain.
