Sequels My idea for SM4.

Okay, please merge this with another thread if you feel it doesn't deserve it's own. I'll understand.

That said, here's how I would do #4.

The Tobey Issue
- Tobey Maguire would obviously have to return. I'm sure they'll offer him a crapload of money.

- Sam Raimi has to return, too.

The Kirsten Issue
- I don't think we need Kirsten Dunst at this point. The ending of #3 definitely made it look like they might/might not make it in their relationship.

- Therefore, bring on Gwen Stacy!!! Give her a much BIGGER part, because she was underused in #3. Bryce Dallas Howard is too much of a talent to have such little screen time.

- So, don't bring Dunst back (since she doesn't seem interested in returning, anyway)... make Gwen Stacy the main love interest, and give James Cromwell a bigger part too, dammit!

- All Tobey has to say in the opening voice-over is something like, "Me and MJ didn't quite work out, but she's moved on to bigger and better things, and we still care about each other, and we keep in touch, and she's a big star in some broadway musical, blah blah.... AND I've been seeing Gwen Stacy for a few months now."


Villains and Storyline

- Sandman didn't die... and he has been established as an ally. I think there's a reason for that. Perhaps Spidey and Sandman can team up to face the big threat together? Also, we haven't finished the story of Flint Marko finding a cure for Penny (his daughter). That story needs to be resolved!!

- Dr. Connors still has the sample of the symbiote. Perhaps he could do research on reptilian DNA, since reptiles can grow back their limbs, and he can mix the symbiote with reptilian DNA in hopes of growing back his right arm.... but he turns into The Lizard instead? He doesn't necessarily have to be an "evil" villain... I'd definitely put him on the same level as Doc Ock.
This would set up a Spider-Man vs. Lizard angle, and it would be emotionally struggling for Peter, because this is his mentor.
Hell, what if Connors accidentally stumbles upon a cure that could save Sandman's daughter, but Connors is using that power for EVIL, instead of GOOD (like saving lives). <---- Far fetched, sure... but it could be done right.

- Cletus Kasady could be a thief who used to work with Flint Marko on small-time robberies. Cletus has now become a vicious serial killer, who somehow gets taken over by Dr. Connor's symbiote sample, thus turning into Carnage. This villain could be PURE evil... I mean, so evil, you CANNOT feel any sympathy for him. This could set up a Sandman vs. Carnage storyline.

- Aunt May could pass away. She is now at ease knowing the true story about Ben and how he died, and now she can rest in peace with the thought of seeing her husband up above. This could be an emotional angle for Peter, because she taught him alot of things about love... actually, she's taught him ALOT of things, from what it means to be a hero, to revenge being a bad thing... she's been a great "mother" and mentor to him... so losing her would be an emotional struggle for Peter. THIS, however, would NOT make Peter "dark", it would simply make Peter stronger as a person, and to make his aunt proud.

So, in a nutshell.... this 4th movie could definitely be "lighter". #3 was maybe a tad too dark, so this one could go back to it's happy roots like in #2.

This wouldn't be as jam-packed as the 3rd one. A storyline like this would be paced nicely in a 2hr movie.. and it would not feel rushed at all. The love angle between Peter and Gwen could be handled nicely, and it doesn't need ANY relationship-problems. Just make the two of them HAPPY. We've had soap opera issues for three movies now... let's put that to rest.

If done correctly, I think this could be the best of the franchise... by far. A finale like #3 could definitely be interesing, having Spider-Man + Sandman + Lizard + Carnage. I think it would be cooler.

Also, the internal struggle Peter could deal with is having to come up with solutions on his own... because he no longer has mentors there to guide him (Aunt May has passed away... Connors has disappeared into The Lizard), so he's actually completely alone with no guidance... and we could see him mature as a person on his own... until Sandman comes to help him.

Also, Thomas Hayden Church is a very funny man. I'd love to see Church and Tobey play off each other in a comedic way, like a tag team, because they both are very humorous people in real life.

I like the idea how Connors discovers a cure for Penny but having Sandman Lizard and Carnage is big it would end up just like 3, the villans would get no screen time.

I like this story line it would be nice to see Gwen killed by Carnage like in the Ultimate Universe

This springs an interesting topic, and it's made me think how id do it. I think what i would do is:

FIRST ACT:

We open with the voice over of pete talking about how he's on good terms with the city again, and MJ has gotten a few commercial gigs. Pete has graduated from NYU, and finally snagged the photographer position at the paper. Lastly him and MJ are getting married in a few weeks, and life seems to have found it's balance.
During this quick voice over we see spidey swinging through the city, and then is called to saved the day. A scene similar to the crane sequence in SM3,where he saves a potential disaster. During this scene a save he makes, (and through out the first half of the film) people ask about where the black suit went. Pete also liked the black suit himself, and contimplates making one.
After this sequence, pete visits aunt may. We learn aunt may aint feeling so great, and she has come to terms with what happend to uncle Ben. She is also ready to be with him again if thats what life has in store, which upsets pete with just the idea of losing her too.
Soon Pete returns home to MJ to there new small home, and Conners calls pete to his office. At the office we learn the symbiote sample has started to "evolve", growing itself and conners beleives it is asexual and actually reproduced itself. Pete notices Lizard experiments everywhere around his office, conners informs Pete it's just a side project. We also meet conners family,wife and daughter. His relationship with his daughter is great, but his wife and his relationship is rocky because of his obsession with his new project. (lizard)
Later that night Pete hears on the scanner that a convict has escaped from Ravencroft, so he decides to use his newly made black suit. Through the chase scene we meet the convict, Cletus Kasady. A convicted serial killer, and a ex theif. Spidey attempts to bag Kasady, but he manages to escape. Soon after Conners decides to try his experiment, in hopes to regrow his arm. Meanwhile a mysterious man tries breaking into conners office. The mystery man snags the symbiote, but before he can escape conners turns into the lizard.
The man is then attacked by the lizard, but the symbiote merges with the man and he becomes venom. Venom and lizard battle, with spidey showing up to fend both off.
This Ends act one.

Heres my take on SM4:

The Rhino starts off being the Rhino when his magazine cart gets destroyed every couple weeks by the Scorpion, and Spiderman never helps him. He emails SM all the tiem asking him to please stop this scorpion guy cause he is ruining good magazines all the time. so he builds a dumb rhino costume like in the Ultimate Spiderman game and puts a jihad out on NYC (he also is a muslim). Spidey finds out there is a guy dressed as a rhino in his city who has missiles and is none too pleased, so he teamed up with DD who by this point is let out of his contract at Fox or wherever and is not Ben Affleck anymore, and also the movie Elektra never happend (DD confirms this in a conversation in which he states that his ex-gf Elektra is dead and never fought live tattooes while chatting with Spidey at the moondance coffee). Something happens that makes another villian, maybe Spot appear, and Spot and Rhino team up with a stack of MASSIVE MISSLES to deploy the city of NY into catastrophe. Meanwhile, the war in iraq is getting worse and DD leaves to go solve it. Spide has to face three big threats on his own while we cut to 'Ol Horn Head taking out a massive generator in iraq. The film ends with victory. Then a closeup on Scorpion reveals that he is upset about something.

SECOND ACT:

This begins with pete coming home, and he startles MJ. She is deathly afraid of the black suit, we learn the events of SM3 tramatized her. Pete promises to never where the suit again, because it reminds her of venom. Kasady takes hiding with an ex girlfriend Sandra Deel (some may know her as shriek, but she isn super powered in this film its just a nod to fans).
Kasady explains how close he was to going back to Ravencroft, due to spiderman. Sandra and Kasady's relationship is explored. And kasady's plan to exact revenge on Officer stacy (for putting him in revencroft in the first place) is put in motion.
The next day Pete visits Aunt may, and who happens to be there helping her out...Eddie Brock. Brock is being super kind to aunt may, the whole time with a crazy grin to parker. Once aunt may leaves the room, brock exchanges words with pete, and through flash backs we learned what happend to him. (the symbiote sacrificed itself to save him) and now he has waited his time, healing his wounds to reunite with the symbiote. And this is a friendly warning to pete, that tonight they fight.
Later that night the two meet, and a battle ensues and spills to the streets.The battle ends with paker causing brock to flee, when peter uses sound waves. The next moarning peter is called to conners home, we see the place a mess. Conners explains his wife left him the night before, so he decided to finally try his experiment. It went array, and now he has done something terrible to himself. Meanwhile eddie visits gwen, and shortly Kasady arrives (looking for captain stacy, but finds gwen)and takes gwen hostage. Brock turns to venom to fend off Kasady, but a fire starts which weakens venom. Kasady escapes, with brock in toe. Pete is visiting aunt may who falls more ill and is brought to the hospital, he is then visited by MJ and pete stresses to mj his fear of losing may. Police rush out the hospital something about a monster lose in the city, pete rushes too.
Spidey finds the lizard running through the city looking for his daughter, and the rest happens much like in spiderman TAS. Where then connors is put in care. Brock follows kasady to a certain public location, to get the attemtion of her father. Meanwhile by accident brock is seperated from the symbiote due to help by sandra. The symbiote finalises it's evolving infront of everyone, and bonds with kasady. He then becomes carnage.

end act two.

As some others have said in the thread MJ should stay.

I like the idea of Aunt May being sick and eventually passing. It would be cool to see Peter deal with the fact his aunt is dying and he ultimately can't do anything about it. You could have Dr. Connors involved in this storyline because Peter knows he has been working on a project that involves regeneration. Peter could help aid Connors because he thinks it's a key to saving Aunt May. Obviously the project goes wrong and the Lizard is born. Peter blames himself for what Connors has become and sets out to return him back to his old self while still having to prevent him from harming others.

There will obviously be another villian in the movie preferably not Sandman. In the end I'd like to see Aunt May die but admit she knows Peter is Spider-Man and have Peter/MJ get married.

ACT THREE:

The final act sees brock tortured by carnage, and left for dead. Captain stacy arrives, and carnage reveals himself to him. Pete gets word aunt may isnt well and doesnt have much time, pete sits by her side. A news report explains the current events with carnage and his hostages. Pete looks anctious. Aunt may tells him to go take care of it, he looks shocked. May explains she knew his identity all along. (she aint dumb, and she peiced it togeather) she even accidently found his costume, but out of respect to him let him do his thing. she tells him, ben would be proud. A short motovating speach later, pete goes to the rescue.
A battle ensues between spidey and carnage, while brock escapes. Eddie frees gwen and rushes her to saftey. Brock and carnage clash, and in the process the symbiote tries picking sides. Spidey in the process (trying to stop both men) causes the symbiote to somehow split in two. Carnage and venom and spdey battle. The end result is spidey and venom teaming against carnage. They manage to free the symbiote from carnage and destroy it with fire. Spiderman lets venom escape, and flees to may. May has passed away, but he learns she watched the whole battle. Next we finally see the marrage of MJ And Pete, Conners is there (he isnt completely cured of lizard, but we learn he's on a formula that keeps the lizard at bay) At the reception a speach is made about uncle ben and aunt may. And the film ends with MJ And Pete dancing, to aunt may and uncle ben's song.

PunisherFC your ideas are simply brilliant the story is great it has a good flow my script would be similar to yours but instead of the idea of the Venom suit attaching itself to Kassady is not so great instead i think it would be better that when Brock and Pete are fighting, Kassady is in the streets watching... and right then Spidey throws Venom into the streets and when Venom is in the streets he leaves behind the Carnage symbiote and
is in form of a rock the Rock changes into the slimy goo and attaches itself to Kassady but Kassady is not aware.

I appreciate the compliment, the story was just an idea off the top of my head. I didnt really think it out, but SM3 was the end of an old trilogy. Sm4 would be a new trilogy, using SM3 as a set up film. If Marvel had me write a superhero movie, I honestly wouldn't veer far from the comics. Obviously a few things have to be changed, and updated. Realism has to play some form of a role, or else most people just wont get it or buy it.
Im not by any means an amazing writter, but i do write my own scripts. I direct my own indapendant short films, for the perpose of festivals.

My idea actually involves MJ but not the Lizard.

I was thinking that MJ decides that she wants to get into acting -- but the only parts she can get is in low budget, B movies, and runs into a special effects wizard by the name of Quentin Beck---who of course later transforms into MYSTERIO!

Who would play Mysterio? BRUCE CAMPBELL!

I think that would open a lot of cool, surreal, sequences between Spidey and Mysterio. He could torment Spidey by producing images of Uncle Ben, with his special effects expertise.

Okay... I know people love Bruce Campbell... I'm one of them. But, personally, I think the idea of him playing Mysterio is just ******ed. Not that he'd do a bad job, but just because 1) Mysterio is lame. 2) Bruce Campbell is too hilarious in his cameos and I'd hate to see him get killed off.

Ok I'v been thinking of how to do 4 and this is what I would do.

Act one. Starts off with bank robbers running out of a building shooting at the police. The police have them cornered but the robbers won't be taken easily. They blow up the lobby of the bank sending glass everywerein a attempt to distract the police long enough to get away. Spiderman swopes in an ties the robbers up in a web. Spiderman thinks he did a good job until he hears cut and a director comes charging out from behind a corner. Turns out spiderman ruined a shot on a movie. Gwen is on set and comes to great spiderman she then introduces Spiderman to he boyfriend Quentin Beck, the special effects man behind the movie. Spiderman apologises and leaves.

Peter has upgraded from his dump of a home from 2 and 3 and is now living with MJ in a nicer NY apartment. MJ and Peter make tipical talk about bills and life. You know what couples talk about, (nothing). Peter also develpos photos in the bathroom

Jameson has a field day with spiderman's mistake back at the Bugle. Peter stops in to give spiderman pics to jameson of him on the movie set. Jameson gives Parker $600 for the photos because of how embarising they are to Spiderman.

Conners is retiring and Peter (now a college graduate) is attending his retirement party with MJ. Conners spots him from across the room and compliments Peter on his knowlege of science. Conners then brags to MJ of Peters talent. Conners then invites Peter to his lab to show him what he's been working on (we all know what)

MJ and Peter visit Harrys grave. Peter spots Aunt May at Uncle Bens grave and they both meet up with her. They talk about how sad they are for Ben and Harry's death. MJ walks up ahead and Aunt May takes peter aside and gives Peter the ring back. Aunt May just smiles at Peter and they both have a moment.

Peter drops by Conners lab, late. Conners goes on to tell Peter about limb growth and what not. Peter notices a freezer containing the symbiot frozen in a agresive state. Once Peter leaves, Conners injects the serum into himself. In a very cool and painful transformation he turns into the lizard. A lab rat watches from a distance as the doctor becomes a beast.

Spiderman is swinging throught the city at night and drops down in a ally to change.
He enters a resturant and gets a table and waits for MJ. He pulls out the ring and ponders. His spider-sence warns him of MJ entering he tucks it away before she sees. Peter goes about the dinner and finally works up the courage to propose to MJ. He starts telling MJ of how much he loves her and his spider-sence goes off. Peter tries to ingnore it but it keeps going off. He is determined to propose. A scream is heard outside. He can't ingnor it any longer he has to leave.

A lizard about the size of a bear is on top of a car scratching away at the windows trying to get into the car and the persons inside. The Lizard finally gets the roof off and is then gets kickes off by Spiderman. Spiderman and the Lizard fight for a period of time. MJ watches from the windows inside the resturant. It is very hard for her to watch. The Lizard throws spiderman aside and escapes. The crowd watching yells at spiderman and points in the direction the lizard took off at. Spiderman follows but is unable to find the lizard.
