I posted this on another thread, but i'm really falling in love with the idea of Peter Jackson taking the helm as Director for this project, and make it as epic and as faithful as he did with Lord of the Rings.

I could really see this project being filmed back to back as was LOTR, and making it an awesome trilogy.

Here's my idea about what each movie should cover. It's pretty choppy, as far as details are concerned, but you'll get the point. Feed back is welcome:

This is how the three films should go:

TF1: Begins with the Cybertron war..then their fated crash to Earth into the volcano within the Arc during prehistoric Earth (them being frozen by the ice age could also work). Fast foward several million years , where they wake up....then both sides learning about planet Earth. Back stories/character developement. Both sides not knowing if Cybertron even still exists after the millions of years they spent inactive.

TF2: The war continues on earth. More humans becoming involved..intricate plots between characters. Confirmation that Cyberton does still exist, and the dismal news that the Autobots have been defeated. (They learn this news after search parties from both sides come across the stranded Autobots and Decepticons-this could be a way to introduce more characters in the sequel).....

TF3: Megatron returns to Cybertron where Shockwave has succeeded in enslaving Cybertrons surviving Autobots (he has them in Nazi style concentration camps). Prime and co rally a last attempt to defeat him back where it all began! When Prime returns home, he feels guilty to see that during his absense his Autobots have been enslaved. Big battle ensues, as the enslaved cybertronian Autobots rise up against their Decepticon captors with the help of their Earth bound Autobots (Prime and Co) .Ends with Megatron being banished into outta space or presumed dead..but we all know better!

well the plot sounds really nice but the earth sounds like its just gonna be a backgroud planet if you know what i mean. I think there should be some real threat for humans coming from the decepticons, it may sound a bit corny and over used but maybe the decepticons enslaving both the autobots and the humans,if its well written it could work fine i think.

My idea for a TF trilogy would be a little more like this:

Chapter 1: a re-imagining of the Transformers' arrival on Earth - within the opening credits, the Ark and Nemesis crash-land in the distant past, and the movie starts with Spike hangin' with his pals when the newly-awakened Transformers abruptly resume their battle on present-day Earth with him smck in the middle. I'd come up with a plot that is NOT an adaptation of either the cartoon or the comics - we don't need to retread a 20-year-old script. The first movie ends with the bad guys being repelled (temporarily - maybe have Megatron blasted into space somehow), but there's a feeling this something wicked this way comes...

Chapter 2: the 'dark' chapter of the saga - Megatron ends up being snapped up by Unicron and either reformatted as Galvatron or given a Galvatron-esque body - but again, they don't need to take every single cue from G1. And again, it should be different than either the cartoon OR the comic. And some kind of groundwork should be laid for the third film by hinting at some of the more practical binary-bonding concepts like Target Masters and Power Masters - maybe take a cue from Dreamwave and bring in the EDC as a government organization secretly making plans to learn how to control the Transformers. The Dinobots show up to save our heroes' butts, and before the movie ends, Optimus Prime bites the big one.

Chapter 3: we learn Earth's true purpose, how it fits into all of this - and it leads to Spike's first encounter with - and subsequent bonding to - Fortress Maximus (think Dave Bowman in '2001'). After being hinted at in the last two flicks, Unicron shows up to consume Cybertron, and all hell breaks loose: Autobots, Decepticons and humans are forced into an alliance, Hot Rod fights Scourge/Nemesis Prime/whoever - a big black Decepticon who's NOT Optimus' evil twin, and Alpha Trion resurfaces in time to fuse his spark to Vector Sigma to reactivate it, his protoform reformatted as a new body for Optimus, who along with Rodimus Prime rallies the Transformers in a final attack, leading to the Big U's demise via the sacrifice of the most unlikely hero of all...

The only thing that's for sure is, whatever movie we get, it won't be nearly as good as anything described on this thread. I almost wish Transformers had only been a comic or a series of novels rather than a toy-line and cartoon, that way the movie wouldn't have to be made with kids in mind. I could totally see transformers as a lord of the rings epic type of movie...........but with transforming alien robots!!!! How awesome would that be!!!! Man, I'm getting depressed thinking about it now......what a waste of a great franchise.

Yeah, especially since you've seen the movie huh? What a waste.

If you disagree, that's cool. Just don't attack me with rude sarcasm - I never did anything to you. Have some courtesy and maybe I'll listen to your opinion.

The Transformers had a comic series in the US and the UK back in the 80's. There was some great stories in those and that is where most of the mythology of the Transformers comes from.

Exactly. I was saying maybe it would have been better if the comics were the ONLY existence of transformers, and not the toys and cartoons, for the sake of not having to tailor the movie to kids. Maybe I'm jumping to conclusions though. I'll keep an open mind at least till production gets underway and we learn more about it.

Don't make me sic Ed on your metal derriere.

I'm not being hostile. The guy said the franchise is wasted without production even starting. Great way to keep his hopes up or keep an open mind about the movie. The movie is gonna be great...we've got Speilberg who is enthusiastic about what can happen with the movie. We've got at least one other producer (Don Murphy) who wants to stick to Gen1 basics. And finally we've got them keeping Optimus Prime as a red semi (As was seen with the set-up at SDCC). We don't know ANYTHING else about the movie really. The whole "boy and his car" thing could be revamped waaay before the script is written...you never know.

Keep an open mind about the movie instead of trashing ideas...which are just that...ideas.

The main reason Transformers is so popular is that KIDS loved them so much back in the day. The kids are grown up now and I can understand that we don't want our childhood "raped". But I don't think they are going to gear this movie toward kids...they are going to make it so that EVERYONE will want to see it. That's Speilberg's way. I picture this movie resembling more Star Wars than LOTR. It's really hard to compare LOTR to a franchise like TFormers. LOTR was written by a linguist who from the beginning created a whole world rich with minute details about the whole history of his world. One person's vision. TFormers evolved into what it is today and is more sci fi. So I see a Star Wars type production for this movie.

Glad to see you're sharing your opinion this time instead of jumping down my throat again. I'll admit though, I was jumping to conclusions a bit there, just like you said, I don't want my "childhood raped". If this movie had a Star Wars feel to it, that' would be just fine with me. I think as long as this movie gets the respect it deserves, I'll be happy.

its much better than the current script, bro. I likes

Cut and paste.Post it here please.

I like the idea of the decepticons winning and defeating the autobots in a movie. Its like in the original star wars trilogy when the empire kicks ass in the empire strikes back. it always turns out to be the best movie when the bad guys win at something.

Your ideas sound cool, but personally I've always wanterd an origin story with the Ark and Nemesis crashing on present day Earth and discarding the whole 4 million years because as the TF's crash land on Earth it will obviously cause a huge uproar among the humans.
