They decided to stop working unless they're plugged into the machine by that stupid baby cord. One says "Charge Failed" and the other simply wont respond when the PS button is pushed. I DO NOT want to spend $100 replacing them.

Have good advice for me.:cmad:

Never heard of that happening. Maybe you can try resetting them. To do so, make sure its plugged in and get a pin or something small and hold the small button on the back of it. Its next to the screw on the right

stop pouring liquid on your PS3 while it's on...?

Gotta LOL to the title of this thread.

Uh...

Hope that helps.

My controllers sometimes wont turn on the PS3 or connect. But it's usually down being low on power, so I just watch a something and let them charge.

Leave them for a prolonged charge is my only advice. If you've done that, which I'm guessing you have, I'm out of ideas.

Did this just happen or does it seem permanent? because this has happened to me...i just restarted the system and used the "baby cord" to re-sync all the controllers and everything started working like normal again.

Only thing I can think of is that the internal batteries have gone South. Unfortunately they're unreplaceable...at least I'm pretty sure they're unreplaceable.

How old are they? Paying out $100 may be the only thing you can do if they're too old. Sounds like the rechargeable battery is dead in one and the other one... well, it could be anything.

It's in the Manual.

One controller I got with the system two years ago. The other is a little over a year old. Is that all they last?

I've had mine for three years. No problems.

I guess it all depends on how much total use they got and the individual battery itself. Good thing to know the battery is replaceable.

Shouldn't you get them replaced for free if it's an actual fault with the component?

Long ago i heard that if the batteris need replacing, you can send them into Sony free of charge to be replaced.

I think they backtracked on that pretty fast. That's why it's in the manual now.

Get a gamestop accound Trade them in, go to a different gamestop and buy a new one. that is what i did when my L2 button wasn't working.

Dont mean to hijack the thread but its controller related. Is there any 3rd party device that'll allow you to use a 360 controller for the PS3 or vice versa?

I don't think so. The only thing I know about is a hack which allows you to use a 360 controller on your PS3. You have to be using Fedora 5 as your OS though.

Thanks for the info, but i did some searching around and i actually found one. This is great, b/c for FPS's, the 360's controller is second to none. I cant wait to get Killzone 2 and try this out.
