Many thanks to all of you who posted here with such great compliments. Since this thread took off, I have done about 6, or 7 radio interviews, Inside Edition, and have several possible magazine articles in the works including Rides, possibly wired. All this in the last 2 weeks. There's even talk of a reality show.
in about a month, I am going to post "My tumbler progress - Part 2". This will be high-res pics going around the car 360deg. and a video with some startling suprises.

Finally got all 8 air foils on. massive job. am assembling the front steering stuff, and the beadlocks(on the rear tire), then almost done. endless.

Here is a prog shot of the steering linkage being assembled. what you see hanging down is a rod-end joint sometimes refered to as a helms joint. It will be screwed into the "Z" like arm that pushes/pulls the spindle. So the rack and pinion inside pushes rods that push/pull a lever, that in turn twists the rod you see sticking out of the front fender, that twisting moves the gold linkage that holds the helms joint, and that pushes/pulls the "Z" arm that pushes/pulls the wheel. clear as mud eh!

Also, what are your plans for when this is completed? I could see the bat pod, but that shouldn't take nearly as long as the tumbler. Also, what is the interior of the Tumbler gonna look like? Is it just a steering wheel, or what?!

all my family and friends have always known I'm nuts, so nothing suprizes them.
I want the interior to be finished, not like the stunt car that was used in the film, but rather the interior shots as seen at various parts of the film. stay tuned.
