Name That Song!

Granted, I cheated and looked up the last one, but I've had a couple of days to forget. Can I just say what it is?

That leaves (filling in the A's):

3. _._A_._._._ - _._A_._._ by _._._._._._

CEEEEGHNNOOPSSSSX

I guess that's a no, then? Ok. I'll let people keep guessing. :)

kbomb - go ahead and tell them what it is, then I'll start a new set that HOPEFULLY is a bit easier on them

But you have to do 3 songs that share a theme!

Well, actually, it's supposed to make it easier to guess the songs. After all if the first two songs in my list had the word "Change" in them, well....

Yeah, good point! A bit harder to come up with the puzzle, but a bit easier for the players... :)

It's Seasons Change by Expose.

By the way, I liked the idea of the common theme. It's kinda like on game shows how you have an extra question for a few extra points. :)

exactly kbomb gets ** for song title and artist.

Incidentally, I'd do one, but the lyrics to music I listen to are either too obvious or too obscure. :(

What is "**," exactly? Is it a prize? Is it redeemable for cash? Do I have to drive to Canada to use it?

It's two stars (like the stickers some teachers give for good marks). It's equal to 2 points.

Kbomb - 5
Truthteller - 2 (only named the song title, not the artist)
Ester Moffit - 2
Spider-Fett - 2

Will these points get me something? If I get, say, 10,000 points, can I cash them in for a beer or something? :)

Does the community you live in have a beer delivery service?
Would you actually give your address over the internet to get a beer delivered?

Well, maybe if it's good beer....:)

Somehow, I see an "I earned 80,000,000 points for naming songs, but all I got was this lousy T-shirt" shirt in my future.

I'm actually running this game on another site. If someone guesses all 3 songs (and artists) with the theme they get an animated gif. They can even choose the gif, if they don't I pick one with a music motif.

Kay here's mine

Song 1
Took their innocence and made them slaves
You want forgiveness, you're so sorry
I'd rather put you in an unmarked grave

Locked you away behind cast iron doors
Rather see you dead on the floor
I hope that you're feeling so much pain now

Song 2

____ ____ told me
Stories of the lonely
Baby, we can only come alive to me
Her man he was lusted
Daddy he was busted
They left her to be trusted
To the orphanage
But when she cried at night
No one cared
And when she cried at night
Went insane

Song 3

I know it's early, but you gotta get down.
Go on and rock, Sue, rock!
I'm a soldier, in the army, of ____ ____
Come on and work out in that foxhole.
Ain't no need to get dirty, but you can get down
This is the army with the mission to rescue dance music from the blahs
We're not gonna do it by fighting--Get up! Get down!
_____ ____ wants you to funk with him
La da dee da dee dee dee dee da

There they are!!

Ok, the game master picks 3 songs that share a common theme (usually a word in the title of the song).

The play:
Place 1 verse of each of the 3 songs on the board and wait for a guess. (Replace any "key" words from the title with ...) If it hasn't been guessed in 1 hour (give or take), place another verse of each of the 3 songs on the board. Repeat until last verse. If still no guesses set up a hangman type board with only the letters actually used in the song title and artist name displayed.

The scoring:
One * for song title, one * for artist/band name and one * for the theme. (7 points total for a whole round). If a single player guesses all 3 songs they should be awarded an animated gif.

As for choosing the next "game master", haven't really come up with a rule for that. Spider-Fett has volunteered for the next set.

Thanks red.

I guess you have to be good at knowing lyrics to songs. :(

hmm... Not a clue. I suspect that this means they are not pop/rock tunes from the 60's through 2002. Probably hard rock, rap, grunge or something stranger still.
