NASA Reveals Successor to the Space Shuttle

No Electricmagnetic or Propulsion technologies?

NASA disappoints me.

Aww, I was hoping for something crazily futuristic. Oh well, we'll get to that someday.

How much money are we pissing away on this?

Getting human beings off of this planet is the ONLY way to ensure long term survival of the human race.

If we stay here and never branch out, sooner or later we're going to run into insurmountable problems that will kill off the human race. Lack of resources, over-population, climate disasters, war, etc. If we stay on Earth our extinction is inevitable.

In my opinion, we're not getting off this planet fast enough.

It doesn't matter. Humans will just exploit and destroy the next livable habit anyways...

Way to be optimistic. Life is all about exploiting your environment to your benefit. Humans just so happen to excel at it to an extreme.

*waits patiently for someone to quote Agent Smith*

Same here, I mean, I wasn't expecting the Enterprise or anything, just something a bit more...different. Ah well, as long as it gets us there. Wherever there is.

Trying to be innovative and creative on a budget is hard. When all else fails it's easier to just update the existing technology to be slightly more efficient than it used to be.

Humanity has shown me nothing to be optimistic about. That's the point.

"The purpose of life is to end."

It does sort of look like an apollo rocket. I would've thought by now we'd have something like the shuttle but better, and be looking towards going back to the moon.

Can't we get something that looks like the Millennium Falcon or the Enterprise?

I'm more of a "nothing matters"-type.

I'm just waiting until we have a holodeck.

It looks like we are going back in time instead of forward.

Appearances are decieving though. That thing is actually safer than the space shuttle was. And I believe much cheaper to operate.

If I were in charge these things, I would name the first Mars-bound manned flight The Enterprise. And instead of a T-Minus countdown, it would blast the Star Trek theme through the speakers at max volume.
