Saw this film on Christmas with the family, and really enjoyed it. Haven't seen the first one - which is better? My only problem with the film was how everything was so conveinent with the characters. (Splashing the water on rocks, etc, etc...) I guess it helped the pacing of the story though.

Yeah...The first movie felt a bit more clever at times, IMO.

Fun, simple, family film. Nothing spectacular. Easily forgettable.
I think a 7 is just right for this one. Worth seeing but not as smart as the
first.

Yea know.....this franchise will be the thing that keeps Nick Cage's career alive. He does 3 or four bombs in a row...then does this...and he's back.

That's what was keeping Wesley Snipes career alive...the Blade movies..once they stopped...his career is pretty much dead

Snipes isn't half the actor Nic Cage is

Cage is a smart actor who does what he has to do to make movies he wants to make, some of them aren't necessarily good, for instance I honestly think Ghost Rider is one of the 5 worst legitimate movies (so like not direct to video, or like 1 million dollar budgeted movies) I have ever seen, but I feel the guy he digs that type of flick the national treasures the next's, the rock, etc. But over the course of 10 years he has been nominated for best actor three times, which is one more than Johnny Depp, and two more than Matt damon, and has won it once which is more than Dicaprio, Cruise, Bale etc, and just as many as a select handfull of actors

Cage does what he has to do to make the movies he wants, and while they aren't always that good, he is living the dream I'd think

I finally got to see every big holiday movie, and this was by far the best, I liked Sweeny Todd enough and considering I am instantly turned off to the tim burton style that is a feat reached on its own, but I still thought it took about 45 minutes to get started, and then was kind of flat when there wasn't any music; Not the best musical of the year, I am Legend was good but to unbalanced, the brilliant first half was off set by the underwhelming second half. The one that came close to me was Walk Hard which was one of the most balanced mixes of high and low brow humor I have ever seen, some of the jokes got a bit redundant however. I def think this was the class of the holiday season, and probably in my top 15 somewhere

Wait, I know I posted in this thread saying how I liked the film. Either I was dreaming, or my post got deleted for some reason. Oh well, I'll say it again.

This movie sucked.

Rating:

1 1/2 out of 4 stars

I wouldn't call Ghost Rider a bomb but yeah National Treasure 1 began his come back but then again Nic had some hits before. He just had a slump like all vet actors go through.
I most glad to see Stallone back form his long slump with Rocky Balboa and Rambo 4.

The only thing I didn't like about this movie was Hellen Mirren. Other than that, just as fun as the first. 8

My wife and I just saw it New Years Eve and loved it. It does set up for part three with the page 47 tease. One can only wonder what that treasure will be. I'll assume that the President charater will be back for part three too as it was he who wanted to information that was on it. Could it be Area 51?

Also the Goofy short was awesome.

Oh my god, what a big freakin' coincidence that this guy's late relatives all have something to do with our world's greatest icons. I could forgive the first film, but this movie called National Treasure: Book of Secrets is just going way, way too far. At least the movies that this floppy mess is based off of(Raiders of the Lost Ark, and the rest of the line of films) don't involve big, dumb coincidences in the plot, but instead in the action sequences; this film has the exception of both.

It was a good Light-Hearted Action Flick. A solid 7.

The Goofy cartoon was worth the admission all by itself.
Very Funny. A+

saw it on tuesday
not bad, very fun action film

like the first one better (probably because sean bean was the villian)

but the sequal has it moments

3 and a half out of five from me

I liked Lord of War....apparently no many did. Ghost rider could have been a much bigger box office hit if it wasn't crappy

7.5 or so.

It was better than the first one, and still an entertaining movie. But the plot was a little all over the place. You've got to figure a movie with Ed Harris, Jon Voight and Helen Mirren is at least worth watching though.

I thought it was pretty god. There were a few flaws of history, but overall it was a good movie. I'll give it a 7/10. Although, I thought Bean was the better villain than Harris.

So when likely is the dvd release date going to be ? Since the movie making quite a bit of money @ the Box Office .

Man i enjoyed this fully, good flick.

Not nearly as good as the first one, which I enjoyed quite a bit.

EDIT

Loved the Lincoln scenes though.
