Yea know.....this franchise will be the thing that keeps Nick Cage's career alive. He does 3 or four bombs in a row...then does this...and he's back.
That's what was keeping Wesley Snipes career alive...the Blade movies..once they stopped...his career is pretty much dead
Snipes isn't half the actor Nic Cage is
Cage is a smart actor who does what he has to do to make movies he wants to make, some of them aren't necessarily good, for instance I honestly think Ghost Rider is one of the 5 worst legitimate movies (so like not direct to video, or like 1 million dollar budgeted movies) I have ever seen, but I feel the guy he digs that type of flick the national treasures the next's, the rock, etc. But over the course of 10 years he has been nominated for best actor three times, which is one more than Johnny Depp, and two more than Matt damon, and has won it once which is more than Dicaprio, Cruise, Bale etc, and just as many as a select handfull of actors
Cage does what he has to do to make the movies he wants, and while they aren't always that good, he is living the dream I'd think

I finally got to see every big holiday movie, and this was by far the best, I liked Sweeny Todd enough and considering I am instantly turned off to the tim burton style that is a feat reached on its own, but I still thought it took about 45 minutes to get started, and then was kind of flat when there wasn't any music; Not the best musical of the year, I am Legend was good but to unbalanced, the brilliant first half was off set by the underwhelming second half. The one that came close to me was Walk Hard which was one of the most balanced mixes of high and low brow humor I have ever seen, some of the jokes got a bit redundant however. I def think this was the class of the holiday season, and probably in my top 15 somewhere
