NBC eyes "Dracula" series

This looks interesting enough. NBC will probably cancel is after a few episodes though.

I will give it a try, but, I am not too pleased with the presence of another reincarnation subplot.

I've never liked that either I never get why Vampires and reincarnation go hand and hand.

I kinda liked the trailer, but I'm not completely sold yet. I'll at least give the first episode a look.

At the very least, it looks great visually.

This looks like Downtown Abbey meets Vampire Diaries.

I was hoping it wouldn't be a romantic vampire tale, but I know that we'll never see a monstrous vampire story ever again.

I HATE romantic, sensitive and sparkly vampires that can walk in the daytime wearing dark glasses and not get turned into a crispy critter...

all of that is pure bulls**t...

Gee...

I wonder what they're going for...

To be fair Dracula, in the novel, could walk in the daylight. It was actually the German expression film Nosferatu (1922) that added sunlight to the lore. So, I have no problem with that.

Is Friday's at 10pm the best timeslot? I also have a feeling this show will get cancelled.

So who is going to play Blade? Wesley Snipes is out of prison, now...

If only there was a Tomb of Dracula series... :o

must be alone because this looks incredible he team behind this are very good too

hope they bring same intelligence brought to tudors and DA

I think there's potential, but the show will need to prove itself. Unlike everyone else here, though, I don't see a non-monstrous vampire and go "omg fail" and never look back.

They attached a good showrunner, so that's something.

I think its funny people are against the romantic aspect when Dracula is in his very nature a seducer and a predator. Dracula isn't Nosferatu. Never has been. He walks in daylight and seduces and stalks his prey.

I have nothing against Meyers really, but one of the things Im not liking is I see him as such a safe choice. I would have preferred some "edgier" casting.

Meyers is a decent actor (and sexy), but this looks "bleh" to me.

New Music Video style trailer with some new footage (apparently NBC put a region restriction on this video, so outside of the US you might not be able to see it, sorry!)

Some videos...

And then apparently NBC/Dracula worked with Lindsey Stirling to do a music video for an orchestral version of her piece "Elements" and it features footage of the show:
