NBC eyes "Dracula" series

It's not excellent but it's not that bad.
It's the same level as the likes of The Vampire Diaries ( which I also watch ) and it has no kids/teens in it which is a big plus for me.
Maybe you just like Jonathan Rhys-Meyers :)

yeah, i've like him since The Tudors.

Just caught up with this show. I think it's improved since the pilot. I'm grown tired of Vampire Diaries and The Originals hasn't fully grabbed me. I think Dracula will be my vampire fix.

I'm liking Lady Jane, one very cool vampire hunter. I also like this show's take on Renfield. And the team up is an interesting twist.

I'm loving Renfield as well.

I think the next episode is going to be interesting, once Drac finds those who took Renfield - there's going to be hell to pay and I think we'll see the monster come out (there's shots from one of the earlier trailers where it looks like some arms get ripped off). Interestingly enough, the woman that Lord Davenport hired, that's responsible for Renfield being taken, is a previous co-star of JRM's from Gormenghast, Neve McIntosh. It took me a while to realize what I'd recognized her from.

I hope we get some backstory on Renfield as well.

Yeah, he's the only other black guy besides myself that knows how to rock a side parting and I'm not talking about those silly thuggish lines on one's head either.

The last ep was cool, seeing him finally walk into the sun.

Indeed, looks like from the promo of the next ep (that here in the states we won't get until the beginning of January *blah*) that a side effect of the sun serum might be that it sends his hunger through the roof.

I like the way the season ended. I hope it gets a season 2.

Val Helsing's revenge was served cold! Not sure that guy died though seeing as how they never actually showed it.

I enjoyed this season, but felt the season finale left a bit too much unresolved. And the Dracula/Lady Jayne fight was too short.

I too hope it gets a second season.

My wife was cutting out coupons yesterday and suddenly yelled, "Hey! Isn't this Mina??"

I can't quite be sure, but it seems to be actress Jessica de Gouw in this L'Oreal campaign. (. . and looking her up, I was surprised to learn she also plays The Huntress on ARROW! )

That's pretty compelling - even though she was a lipstick model from two years ago, and the ad above was for hair products.

But it still seems a toss-up to me. Barbara above, Jessica below:

Van Helsings turned on a dime. Reminded me of my ex, it just came like a storm lol

Now that Grayson is basically a failure, i'm curious to see where things go next.

I had no idea that was the season finale. I was pleasantly drunk, waiting, on Fri and BAM reality hit. When does season two start?

We don't know yet if we're getting a season 2. The creators seemed hopeful on twitter a couple weeks ago that we might, but there's been no official word/announcement yet.

Hope we get a wolfman next season.

Just throwing this out there, still no official news on whether it's renewed or not, one of the creators did tweet this yesterday in response to a question of if it's been confirmed that it's been cancelled/not renewed:
is it confirmed that there is not a season 2 of dracula?

@leesimms83 No, it's not. We're still in the running.
So for those of us that enjoyed the series (for what it was) I guess there's still hope we'll get a S2.

So, is there any hope of return? Any news? Sorry to bump it. Although I''m sick of this vampire wave in the last couple of years and shows like Vampire Diaries never got to me, I really dig Dracula (I suppose the classic vamp stories are always better than all this NuVamp BS we got lately! :) )and I must say that the show started decent, but it became really good as it progressed, so to my disappointment I had to find out that it might be cancelled. :(

Btween the ratings being over 2M, Rhys Meyers' drug problem and Vamp Fatigue, the show staked itself (pun intended)
