Fantasy NBC's Grimm

grimm's are able to see a wessen's true for without them knowing. normal people like hank can only see the wessen real form when the wessen wants them to see it.

That's a good question.

I finally caught up with Grimm on my DVR and I like the fact Hank is in on the secret. Yet, his knowing and being able to take on Wessen is confusing to me. It again makes me question what makes a Grimm so special? If Hank, who isn't a Grimm, can take on a Wessen simply because he knows they are there then anyone could (conceivably) be a Grimm, IMO. At least that is the way it's coming off.

In one of the previous episodes it was mentioned that if a normal human saw the true form of a Wessen they would go mad. This was confirmed by Hank's mental state after he saw Monroe's true form. But Hank was able to get over it so doesn't that make him special?

I think the viewer needs to be given more information about what a Grimm is (history, powers/abilities, politics, etc.) to get a more rounded understanding of the mythology presented to us. Right now all we know is that the Grimms are something the Wessen fear and that they can see their true form. Also, they can perform somewhat supra-normal physical abilities (quickness, strength, acute senses).

Hmmm...I do remember that being said, but I don't see him knowing and not going insane as special. It's like he was willing to buy any explanation that explained why he wasn't crazy. Nick could have told him an outright lie and I think he would have bought it. My issue is I always thought the Wessen were strong, faster, etc, so humans cannot take them on. Yet, Hank laid out a Wessen with one punch.

I agree they have to expound on what a Grimm can do and why. I have been thinking of late that the answer to this questions has been delayed because the writers don't want to hem themselves in a corner. Meaning, by not explaining what a Grimm can do, or setting specific rules, they leave the door open so a Grimm can do anything, IMO.

Well Hank took out a coyote wessen. If it had been a bit bigger one he probably would'nt have been able to. so this show is now on Fridays right?

Well, I just hope they delve into what a Grimm is an their history in future episodes.

I think the show starts airing new episodes on Friday at the end of this month. Not sure though.

I find it interesting that they moved Revolution to Mondays and Grimm back to Fridays. It seems like it would make more sense to put those two shows back to back.

Yeah...though since I'm on the West Coast I still have a few more hours to go.

I'm most curious about where Wessen come from. Like, they seem less like creatures and more like special humans. Were their ancestors originally human and then something happened? Or not? I'm curious.

Finding it hard to enjoy the show. Just feels like the same damn stuff every week.

Not a great return. The episode was weak. The only amusing thing from last night was the preview for next week. [BLACKOUT]The spell on Juliette is finally wearing off. But it looks like Renard is now in love with her.[/BLACKOUT]

Yeah, I picked up on that too. I think the episode would have been better they focused more on the attempt to find Nick's key. I was super shocked that someone showed up at Nick's trailer. I hope he moves it because if old boy found it then he's not covering his tracks very well.

This past episode at least confirms that Hank doesn't automatically see Wesens. They have to consciously show themselves to him, while Nick just sees who they are when they weaken.

Good call, Carrrnuttt. I noticed that too. It does help to explain a little more about the Grimms and their powers. I saw in the previous for next week that Monroe shows Hank his true nature and it freaks him out...lol. Maybe that will scene will go in a bit more detail.

Even though this last episode was weak, I am still really excited by the show.

Also, did anyone see in the preview that Adalind is back? They showed her Wessen form, so I'm wondering if she has found someway to get her powers back.

This made me think about the earlier question below:

If Adalind losing her powers make her a normal human, than kind of makes the case that they're simply "special humans" right?

That's if she got them back.... I am not sure that the footage shown wasn't just stock footage. Though if she does have her powers back then I hope this means they will delve into the mythology behind the creatures. Plus, if the Captain is a half breed then it must mean they can mate outside of their normal species....if you will.

she's been made a regular cast member.

Glad to see Angelina back....really like her character. I foresee a love triangle involving Monroe....lol

I got into the show over the summer and I'm already about to give up on it. It's just so damn dull.

Nick and Monroe are the only characters I can stand. Everyone else almost puts me to sleep.

OH NO........OH NO....
Angelina is dead.
I did not see that coming and I'm totally pissed. Dang...I did like how Hank came to Nick's rescue though, but I'm still sad. :csad:

I wonder if Monroe will start to reevaluate his relationship with Nick after what has happened? I also like how they explained how non-Grimm's can't see wessen unless they are really pissed off and don't care. Now, I just need more explanation on the Grimms.

Is Dish Network taking away everybody's NBC Channel now to or is it just isolated to my local viewing area?

Attention DISH Subscribers

Starting October 8, WBIR may no longer be available on DISH. That means you could lose access to blockbuster college football, NFL Sunday night football and entertainment programming such as The Voice as well as your local news, weather and sports. Tell DISH to keep your NBC station WBIR by calling 1-800-823-4929.
Information about WBIR on DISH
In order for our station, WBIR, to be delivered to your home, we negotiate agreements for the rights to carry our station with video service providers like DISH. In the vast majority of cases, these agreements are reached through normal business discussions. In fact, WBIR has agreements in place with all of the video providers in our area. Unfortunately, so far DISH has refused to reach a fair, market-based agreement with us. If a deal is not reached by midnight on October 7, DISH subscribers will lose access to WBIR.
Q: Why is DISH refusing to reach an agreement to carry WBIR?

A: We cannot speak for DISH. But here is what our viewers should know: WBIR is committed to reaching fair, market-based agreements with all the video service providers in our area. Our track record shows that we have successfully reached such deals time and time again. That is why DISH's refusal to reach an agreement with us is disappointing. It is our hope that DISH will change course and reach a deal because it is unfair for customers to lose one minute of WBIR programming.

Q: If WBIR is off the DISH programming lineup, what can I do to avoid missing my favorite sports, news and entertainment programs?

A: The good news is that you have choices. First, WBIR is available on other video service providers in our area including DirecTV, AT&T U-verse, Charter Communications, Comcast and Knology. And you can always get WBIR free over-the-air

Really good episode last night. Really like Monroe, so episodes that involve him are always a plus. Sorry to see
what happened to Angelina.

So now Hank is really involved with Nick on these "off the books" work.

And hey, that blonde that hired the hit, wasn't that 1970's Eloise Hawkings from LOST? :wow:

She was also on last seasons Vampire Diaries if you watch that show. She played Elijah & Klaus' mother.

Solid ep this week and I'm glad they have revisited the idea of some being pissed that Monroe helps a Grimm, but I get the feeling that the reason behind it was more layered given the reveal.
