That's a good question.
I finally caught up with Grimm on my DVR and I like the fact Hank is in on the secret. Yet, his knowing and being able to take on Wessen is confusing to me. It again makes me question what makes a Grimm so special? If Hank, who isn't a Grimm, can take on a Wessen simply because he knows they are there then anyone could (conceivably) be a Grimm, IMO. At least that is the way it's coming off.
In one of the previous episodes it was mentioned that if a normal human saw the true form of a Wessen they would go mad. This was confirmed by Hank's mental state after he saw Monroe's true form. But Hank was able to get over it so doesn't that make him special?
I think the viewer needs to be given more information about what a Grimm is (history, powers/abilities, politics, etc.) to get a more rounded understanding of the mythology presented to us. Right now all we know is that the Grimms are something the Wessen fear and that they can see their true form. Also, they can perform somewhat supra-normal physical abilities (quickness, strength, acute senses).
Not a great return. The episode was weak. The only amusing thing from last night was the preview for next week. [BLACKOUT]The spell on Juliette is finally wearing off. But it looks like Renard is now in love with her.[/BLACKOUT]![]()
This past episode at least confirms that Hank doesn't automatically see Wesens. They have to consciously show themselves to him, while Nick just sees who they are when they weaken.
Also, did anyone see in the preview that Adalind is back? They showed her Wessen form, so I'm wondering if she has found someway to get her powers back.
I'm most curious about where Wessen come from. Like, they seem less like creatures and more like special humans. Were their ancestors originally human and then something happened? Or not? I'm curious.

Really good episode last night. Really like Monroe, so episodes that involve him are always a plus. Sorry to see
what happened to Angelina.
So now Hank is really involved with Nick on these "off the books" work.
And hey, that blonde that hired the hit, wasn't that 1970's Eloise Hawkings from LOST?![]()
