They definitely showcased Tom's skills this episode and with him taking on new identities and having had previous identities, the possibilities are endless. They just need to find ways to keep it fresh and not redundant. I wonder if Solomon and the other girl will move to the spin off too? I kinda like the dynamic they have with Tom and I see them all being a dysfunctional unit (especially with Tom shooting Solomon). I'm guessing Scottie's underground private base will be their HQ too.

Yes both Solomon (Edi Gathegi)and the girl (Tawny Cyrpress) both signed on to the spin off when it was first announced.

I rather enjoyed last nights episode, had a real strong Nikita/Alias vibe to it.

Good episode last night. Still not sold on the spin off. Cheesy moment, everyone in the underground HQ huddling behind Dumont as the clock ticked then breaking into hugs and celebrations.

His mom? She looks young enough to play his older sister.

Near the end of the episode Red mentions that Christopher Hargrave disappeared when he was 3. Susan says her child vanished 28 years ago, so that would make Tom 31 (Ryan Eggold is 31, Famke Janssen is 52)

But they probably could have gotten someone slightly older.

Oh that's nice! Yeah I thought they did a good job setting up the tone of the spin off. I love me some heist/cons type of shows.

That did came out unintentionally funny. :funny:

I don't disagree but that's Hollywood for ya. :D

I wonder how long before Scottie finds out that Tom is her son? It better be soon because the two actors have way too much sexual chemistry. At some point during their final talk, I thought she was going to kiss him. :hehe:

^ lol No kidding. It really was flirtatious. I was thinking, "Tom, dude. Your mom is coming onto you. Shoot her."

‘The Blacklist’ Spinoff Picked Up To Series

THE BLACKLIST: REDEMPTION

In this thrilling new spinoff of NBC’s breakout hit series, undercover operative Tom Keen joins forces with Susan “Scottie” The Blacklist: Redemption - Season PilotHargrave (Famke Janssen), the brilliant and cunning chief of Grey Matters, a covert mercenary organization that solves problems governments don’t dare touch. While on the hunt for Liz’s attacker, Tom secretly discovered that Scottie is actually his biological mother. Now, as they team up to employ their unique skills and resources in a dangerous world of deadly criminals, Tom begins his own covert mission to find out more about his shadowy past.

The cast includes Famke Janssen, Ryan Eggold, Edi Gathegi and Tawny Cypress

Jon Bokenkamp and John Eisendrath serve as writers and executive producers. John Fox and John Davis also executive produce. Michael Dinner directs. Produced by John Eisendrath Productions, Flatwater Scribe, Davis Entertainment in association with Sony Pictures Television.

The Scottie and tom stuff was weird. They are mother and son but it felt like there is sexual tension between them.

I seriously wonder, since Tom can't tell her the truth yet, if him avoiding her advances will become a thing.

I hope not. Too weird.

It's also a bit of a twist on Red and Liz's relationship with each other and with us, where we as the audience know what the deal is, and it's the main character that doesn't know.

I was going to post an annoyed at hollywood statement about how Famke is obviously too young to be Tom's mom...and then I looked up her age.

Damn. Girl looks great for 50.

Still watching the episode but wow... that I did not see happening.

I suspected something like this might happen and then I thought no, they weren't going to do that and kept it going... and now they have pulled the rug out from under us.

The writing on this show is as good as can be expected. Even when you know there is a twist they still trick you in how they pull them off.

Just finished it... now I see what Kai Proctor from Banshee is up to. That was almost as big a surprise. :funny:

My DVR cut off when [blackout]Kirk said to Liz that he's been waiting for 25 years for this moment. So what happened after that???[/blackout]

He told her that his name was once Constantine Rostova, and that he is her father.

Oh nice... Thanks! I'm not sure I believe him for now though. :funny:

Well that played out like I guessed it would. Kirk could still be BSing. Hope Kaplan's punishment isn't death. She meant well and I like her.

I don't see Red killing her but maybe he'll just cut her off?

I knew it!

Played out exactly how I thought as well.

I didn't see
her father being Kirk twist coming

Suspected Kaplan did something

Even suspected the Kirk Thing

But, I was far from confident

Really gotta wonder what Reds deal is?

We're moving to a baby kidnapping now, I guess

Just saw the finale last night, bravo show, you had me 50% convinced Liz was dead! :applaud

It will be interesting to see where they go next season now a major cat is out of the bag,

What's boggling me is:

If Red really cares about Liz as he has demonstrated time and again, why would he want to eliminate Kirk without Liz ever having found out about...you know?

That is, if Kirk is telling the truth.

The hell? I guess Kirk was full of **** then? I mean I suspected he was but I didn't think the promo's would make it this obvious
