NBS Nightly News with Ted Phillips

*just* saw it. It's pretty well done--specially the aging effect, like it was taken off some kind of tape from those years :oldrazz:

the tank clips in full and it looks so good in the old B/W effect

They weren't a team in the book tho. But whatever.

They could be referring to when they tried to form Crimebusters (which I believe the name has actually been changed to "Watchmen" in the movie).

Yeah, that kinda bugged me actually. I'm still wondering why there's a photo of that group even taken. I mean, in the book, Captain Metropolis gathers them all to form the Crimebusters, Comedian laughs at the idea, burns the map, and the group never forms. I dont know why they'd take a group picture like the Minutemen did.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see how the scene plays out.

that or they're just referring to them as a group in general, because they're the only heroes to exist at that time and that's the only picture of them together in one place.

Or they didn't get the memo that "The Crimebusters" didn't make it past one meeting. I don't know.

That was a cool video though. I thought it was awesome how they had that Super Friends animated style Dr. Manhattan cartoon show.

I also noticed that they really seem to be stressing the effects that the presence of Dr. Manhattan has on people, presumably to enforce the new ending.

yea, i wish they kept the crimebusters name in the film
but seeing in the trailers RR kept saying watchmen, so im not sure it will

and the NBS video, nicely done the picture quality makes it more real, like if you were in the 70's and early 80's

Maybe the pic is taken before the meeting. Everyone just meeting eachother and excited to be there or in high spirits. Just a guess though.

..that little vid is full of avvy material

Does anyone know if this will be in the actual film or not?

The news bit? It could be. It could be on a tv in the background, too..

The strange thing is, the released image of The Comedian reading a newspaper indicates that it will turn out this way.

Anyone know if the Watchmen virals are being done by the seem people who did The Dark Knight virals? You know, 42E?

Nope Shocker, a company called Picture Production Company is taking on this one. they even have a blog about it on their website.

Wow. I would love it if they included episodes of the Dr. Manhattan cartoon series throughout the movie. Awwww that would be so cool!

Awww too bad, guess we won't be hunting down The Comedian's bowling balls :woot:. Though it looks like these guys are doing a fine job. Might be a good thing too, I'm doing a report on Viral Marketing for films soon and it'll be nice to mention more companies than just 42E. Thanks Dan!

Huh... Picture Production Company website doesn't seem to be working.
