Need help finding a movie.

[The Question]

There's this animated movie that I used to watch when I was a kid, but can't recall the name of now. I'm pretty sure it was on the Disney Channel a lot. The plot, or what I can still remember of the plot, was about a young, anthropamorphic cat who was born without a tail. This lead to ridicule from his peers, and made him a poor athlete as it screwed up his balance. He ended up going on a quest to somehow get a tail, which at one point involved him going on some sort of wierd vision quest in the dessert. I also remember getting the feeling that the movie was kind of confusing, and in retrospect probably fairly surreal in it's storytelling, if that helps.
