Took me a second to realize you were talking about District 9 and not Deep Space Nine.

LOL Oh my I did mean to just put D9. Funny the other day talking about DS9 I kept saying District 9. I dunno why this has been messing me up as of late.

I love that new pic. I'm ready for a 2nd trailer, can't be greedy though!

Good interview with Blomkamp. He talks a lot trying to figure out what science fiction concepts to incorporate and explore in this movie and the importance of not letting them get in the way of a good story but rather informing the story. He talks about the need for a proper balance. It is very encouraging and is exactly why I am so excited by this man as a film maker in this genre.

''but there's still a lot of dark satire to it. And so the dark satire of like building a mansion in space — with the weight of taking stones and **** up there — is hilarious, you know? It's not scientifically plausible, but it's incredibly funny. So showing the level of opulence and wealth, where they've actually recreated Bel-Air on a space station, and having pulled all of that wealth and those resources out of Earth, results in the visual landscape that is diametrically opposed. ''

''There's kind of a black market, cyberpunk element to the film, where people are cobbling together cerebral-interface, kind of, screwed-up technology in a Third World kind of way''

''I mean, the whole like transhumanist [idea and] all of the sort of science fiction ideas and somewhat real speculative fiction ideas and everything are incredibly interesting to me. You know, what happens is, there's so much data out there, it becomes a question of how much you want to include in any one direction.''

I love reading interviews with Blomkamp, he seems intelligent and he seems to have his films completely thought out. I love his commentary on District 9, he goes into so much detail. It's kind of funny hearing people just now talking about Elysium when some of us have been looking forward to it for the last 2 years almost.

I just finished watching the comic con panel interview with Damon, Niell and foster. I really need to get my hands on that Graphic Novel that Niell showed Matt regarding the film (also Id love to read the script)

Love the trailer to bits. Is the bearded guy with the sword the guy from District 9?

Sharlto Copley pretty much nearly kills Matt Damon in all their encounters but there's a massive twist...

The above is purely speculatory... hupti sethu upon la centre pompidoo remember? moaziir

Just saw Damon in The Adjustment Bureau. While the movie was sub par for me I really enjoyed Damon in it. Made me more excited to see this!

I hate Matt Damon but I will give this a chance maybe, I just hope it is better than the overrated District 9.

Your opinions are your own, but there is so much to be baffled by in that post.

This post has a strange juxtaposition between pure cynicism and pure hope, ha!

Outriddled has been skirting the ban line by being JUST non-sequiter enough to not be deemed a troll.

"If Earth Day had been taken more seriously, Elysium might not exist. Thank you for your continued ambivalence toward this holiday."

Wow, quite the disturbing facebook status from the It'sBetterUpThere facebook page.

"For those inquiring, the Pope maintains residences in both the territory formally known as Vatican City and Elysium with most time spent on the torus." -It's Better Up There.

Interesting.
