That may be true, but it's equally ludicrous to act like the man committed a mortal sin because he did an adaptation that wasn't 100% the way some fanboy envisioned it.
'' You crossed the line first, sir. You hammered them, and in their desperation ''
who started this? did the haters start complaining like he is the devil? no. they were created by the fanatic fanboys who every 4 years need a new guy to praise.

:woot:

You know, I'm not even a hater. I love Nolan and all of his movies. I just can't help but roll my eyes when some wants him to direct Star Wars or whatever the latest big budget action movie happens to be. They give zero thought as to whether he is even a good choice for the movie or not. They just think, "Durr...I like Star Wars...The Dark Knight was awesome...obviously Nolan should direct Star Wars."

But I think yhe fault should lie on the person who made that suggestion not Nolan himself. Well we can constructively state why he's not a good fit for Star Wars, like Kubrick wouldn't be good for that type of movie either, but instead you'll see a can of worms being opened and all the hate come in even when its not intentional.

I see WETA did props work for this . Here's hoping they do collectables for this like they did for D9.

Agreed, but at the same time some fanboys even myself at times act as if we know what will work best for it. Some act as if they know a director well enough to "do something" like Star Wars or not. It's a double edged sword. I agree most just do it like Soapy said, but there were those like me that could see some of his elements and where they could work ect. Some actually put good thoughts and ideas behind it, but then there are those that just scream out it because of the simplistic reasoning.

However I'm sure some don't like him legitimately and I'm not against those that have constructive criticism. But like extremes on both sides just usually personally attack the other fan, and really have almost zero points.

But ya Nolan should not get the hate because of some of his fans, and that goes with pretty much anything out there.

Christopher Nolan isn't really relevant to this film, is he? Aren't there like 11 billion Nolan threads already? Does this need to be yet another one?

just for fun ;)

Yet it always happens lol.

I mean hell I saw a certain (not so fan of Nolan) go into the Game of Thrones thread and try to draw similarities to TDK is in why both TDK and GoT sucked. lol. And no one had brought up Nolan before in that thread. But it does show that yes sometimes the super extremes on either side just love to bring him up for anything.

Even I've grown tired of bringing him up and my point was trying to be more general about the whole internet world as of today. Just how there are great things, then a lot of bad.

To me the thing is just not on Nolan though It's overall of just on the internet interacts.

The internet has some great things about it that I love to death, quick access to news, and sometimes some amazing discussion and great insight.

Then on the other hand there is some terrible things and to me they may just get worse. This past year I've been on forums a lot because what I'm doing allows me lots of time on the Internet. But thankfully in the next few months I will be away much more. Sometimes being on these places too much just really puts you in a weird and odd place.

But I don't think this goes just with Nolan but as an example on this board how people all over the internet like to do certain things for various reasons. Some legitimate. Some more for an odd pleasure of some sort.

I'm sorry but how can anyone dislike Game of Thrones?

He was ripping more into the adaptation aspect from book to film but ya lol. I don't know how either. He liked the book but did not care about the adaptation to screen. And somehow that related to TDK lol. But there are many other examples he could of used since comic books have so much more it can take liberties with since so many people work on them give their own views of the characters over 70 years. As with one author and one book is a lot different.

But most seem to still love D9 there will be those that scream bloody murder, but most critics and people around here seem to have loved it. I'm sure Elysium will have it's detractors but every film does. I for one am really excited for this, and really think he is one of the "next next" generation of film makers that is emerging. He is one that you can tell video games were actually an influence on some of his film making styles. And he does it good which is surprising. And he is one that is around my age. So I find it really cool what he is doing and bringing to the table in a new style ect.

So yeah.... about dat Elysium trailer.

Ya I'm still waiting for it to get a 1080P version. I hate when they do this Yahoo crap. Seriously.

I'm really, REALLY pumped to see Sharlto Copley plays a sadistic sociopath. The guy deserved an Oscar nom for District 9 but was criminally ignored.

So is there only one colony? Cause one of the viral sites suggested they were making more.

Yeah, they appear to be making more but it looks like there is only one Elysium, at least at the start of the movie.

It looks... good. Not as intriguing as District 9's hook is, but it looks refreshingly original.

But WTF is up with Foster's Suze Orman look?

There were quite a few trailers for DS9 wasn't there? I wonder how many more of Elysium we will get.

Took me a second to realize you were talking about District 9 and not Deep Space Nine.
