IMO, its totally worth checking out. And if you look at the other movies coming out in march, this one seems to one of the better ones.

Well, 10,000 BC looks great, and that comes out this month. So I don't know, maybe when NBD comes out i'll decide to go see it or not.

This movie is a blight against MMA and it projects the image that MMA has been trying to avoid for years. A bunch of yuppie *****e bags forming their own stupid little MMA fight club where they knock each other down on little play mats. There's nothing about competitive, professional, or legit MMA in it.

Actually there is, but of course since it's a movie, they changed things so that it looks good on film.

Which is what exactly? Because I don't see legit MMA feds allowing people to drop people on car hoods, let crowds be around the mats or perform in Orlando nightclubs.

I was referring to the fighting style itself.

The fighting style itself looks like bastardized MMA. Guys don't do triple acrobatic flips in MMA. It's not an ACROBATIC style sport.

As for how it's done professionally, competitively and legitimately, it's a ****ing high school movie, they changed it to fit the story.

Karate Kid still had a legitimate karate showcase at the end, and this movie simply knocks off Karate Kid and Showdown.

Yes they changed it to make it stupid to fit a stupid, derivative story and present MMA in a way that the sport has been trying desperately to get away from for years and not condone. That is stupid high school kids with their dumb little yuppie *****e bag fight clubs pretending to be legit MMA fighters.
