so as I was waking up this morning to NPR's Morning Edition, I was greeted with particularly interesting news item

so, basically, it's a former narcotics cop who has now made a video of how to avoid being busted for pot possession

what they dont tell you is that the cops are going to bust everyone who buys the DVD because why else would you buy it unless you have drugs on you?

He's going to learn another painful lesson pretty soon too...the speed of internet piracy. He'll sell one copy of his DVD for $20 and within hours every smuggler (and wannabe smuggler) on the planet will have a pirated copy downloaded from the internet without having paid a dime.

I personally find the fact that this type of information is out there to have much more interest value

besides, thinking like that is like saying "well, I'm an aspiring musician, but why should I record my music if people are going to just download it off the internet and I won't make a dime"

I see the difference between the example you provided as one doing what they do out of love of what they do, and the other doing it because he's pissed and wants to get back at someone.

The musician will continue to make music because they genuinely get something out of it, be it pleasure, money, respect, attention...whatever.

The ex-cop will probably stop once he realizes he's not going to get anything out of it aside from 15 minutes of internet fame.

Naa i know alot of cops that are against weed being illegal, I've ran into cops that have said conceal our stuff better, or simply give it to them and drive away.

cops where i live, don't care as much about us smokers anymore, the amount of cops I've ran into with weed in possession I've never gotten ticketed or thrown into the car, they let us go.


i talked to a cop recently and hes trying to petition for a leaniancy with marijuana possession, so if we do run into the wrong cop, the penalty wont be anything more than us getting are stuff taken away and thrown out.
