New Alan Moore interview

Haha it looks like I'm responding to the Morrison link. No, I'm responding to the guy that provided the Morrison link.

I haven't seen anything wrong with what Alan Moore has said.

Poor Alan Moore. Guy explains himself perfectly reasonably, but the fanboys can't take him having his own opinion :(

Exactly who cares if he endorses the film or not. The comics its own entity and the films its own entity. Moore isn't getting money for the film and he isn't making a big rant against the movie his just honestly answering a question. People need to get over it.

Grant Morrison is a fan boy now?

Besides this is hardly the first time Moore has acted in a pretentious and grumpy manner, so I don't feel for him.

well its hardly the first time moore has come off as pretentious, there was his rant circa 2005 on filsm were hurting the comic book industry, even though that's not true and movies are the only reason Marvel is still in business.

Alan Moore is a pretenetious old grump, not because of this interview, but because of everything he has said for the last 5 years.

I guess you could call anyone that complains about anything a pretentious old grump :whatever: Which would include yourself.

Why do you care if Moore approves of movies being made of his work?

Its not that he complains, he complains about everything! That's what Morrison was talking about, he complains all the time.

I don't complain all the time and i don't care what Moore thinks, but his bad attitude is annoying.

He got asked about it, for **** sake. People ask him his opinion, he answers.

he doesnt complain all the time. I have seen interviews with him where the interviewer never brings up movie adaptations and he was pleasant and friendly and honest and forthright

People act like he went on some tangent or rant. He was asked (like kainedamo said)

Morrison's just angry that Moore dislikes his "Arkham Asylum," and made it publically known, several times.

Why does Alan Moore complaining bother so many people?

Well, Alan Moore has never like his stuff being adapted for film, so his comments are nothing new. He's an amazing writer, and although it's unfortunate that he doesn't like the movie adaptation of his work, he's entitled to his opinion. I think Alan is probably a bit bewildered because when he wrote Watchmen, he intented the story to not be adaptable to film, that's why he included many things like penis on Dr. Manhattan, the sex scene, and a story that is long and complex. Squeezing all these into a two-hour film is something he probably doesn't relish very much.

I said above I wasn't responding to Morrison's complaints.

Kaine, I feel like youre completely getting ganged up on here, and I agree with you in every way. Alan Moore needn't be chastised for not bending over and telling Hollywood "Thank you sir, may I have another?" like Mark Millar and some of the people at Marvel.
Allow me to paraphrase something he said in an article. If somebody wanted to make a movie of the pornographic novel he made with his wife, who'd want the movie to be made although Alan Moore might not, it wouldnt be fair for him to deny his wife of the option to get said movie made. That's what he did with Watchmen.
Now that said, Alan Moore stated his opinion about something his doesn't like. You don't agree with him? That's too bad. You think he's a worthless little dork? Don't worry. There are plenty of soulless studio execs who agree with you.

All I did in my first post was post that link and you start blasting me for it, so why I am a jerk just for posting that link?

Clearly Alan Moore is a god and only Grant Morrison is worthy to criticize him. How dare I criticize the god king Moore, when it is not my place to do so. Now I must commit Japanese ritual suicide to cleanse me of my sins and hope the god king Moore doesn't judge me too harshly in the next life.

You called Moore a "pretentious grump" and an "ultra anal fanboy".

I am completely dumbfounded by this thread

Obviously you have the right to your opinion, but I have the right to disagree. If I talk to Morrison right now Id challenge his opinion too. I dont know where this idea that Morrison is getting a free pass with his opinion of Moore is coming from.

Alan Moore knows how he feels and doesn't ******** about it. His views and opinions are not only understandable, they are respectable. I'm inspired by a guy who only wants to protect his art, no matter the cost.
