Highest I got was 17 with a 7 kill streak. I haven't won a match yet though, best is 2nd.

First match ended up 4th. 2nd match ended up 1st. But the 3rd match got a lot more even with the people getting the hang of the controls. Ended up 2nd.

I found it really hard as a marine. It was awesome though, the motion tracker and flashlight adds so much atmosphere to it.

Like you're walking down this pitch black corridor, the motion tracker starts beeping straight infront of ya, but there is nothing there, then you look up at the ceiling and there is a friggin alien right above ya! AHHHHHHHH! lol

I do pretty good as a Marine with the odds against ya like they are. I had a little trouble as a Alien at first then got a little better with it but still had trouble holding onto the ceiling when I wanted to let go. Predator took a little getting used to but once I got the hang of him I was doing pretty damn good with it. I really look forward to this in a few weeks.

I think they nailed the alien. its so damn fast! Iv only played 2 matches so far, one as the alien, one as the predator, but i like what im seeing.

Badass game, first impressions where that it was crap. I was the Alien about 5 times in a row before I realised I had to change at the start myself

I didn't really like the melee system too much but I realise that my problem was I was just repeatedly clicking. Its all about timing, blocking etc. Once I figured this out the Alien was alot more fun to play, its fun to watch a marine shoot at you then not know where you've gone to. They are looking on ceilings with their flashlight etc its badass!

Then I moved onto the Predator, took me a while to figure out that I had to lift my guns, mines, stick, blades etc but once I figured that out it was hellah fun. The hunt mode is going to be quite good when its one Predator vs a group of marines. One thing I didn't really like was I assumed it would be very hard for a Marine to spot you while cloaked if you didn't move, but it seems as I found out when I was a marine your flashlight pretty much brings the predators up.. kinda disappointing but it makes stealthing them much fairer & more challenging.

Marine is by far the most 'scary', you feel vulnerable from every angle.. & the fact that you are basically the only one of the 3 that can't see well in the dark means that using your torch gives the atmosphere a great boost.

I think I'll definatly buy the full game as I wanna investigate other maps & modes etc. But first impressions are its quite a good 1st PS, my only gripe thus far is there seem to be quite alot of controls to customise & remember.

Anyone got it on the PC?

Has anyone found the plasma caster? I've only found the mine.

When I was an alien I got splatted by someone with a plasma caster and i was like "where the **** did you get that!?!?"

Yea I've found it, if you hold the focus button on Predator you can see where your various killing devices are located providing you are within range of them.

I always managed to get most of the weapons. I always pass on the Mines. I don't like those at all.

I freaking LOVE the demo. I think its fantastic. Each species is a blast. I was afraid that the marines were gonna be too weak, but nope, they can easily hold their own. I played about 10 matches, won once as a marine, once as a predator. There is deff a learning curve, but once u get the hang of it(blocking, countering etc) its just super fun. I cant wait for this one.

Played only for a 2nd time as an Alien today and already owned with 19 kills. The Alien's focus mode probably serves as some kind of way pointer in the Single player, but it also helps you to perform a lunge attack. You press & hold Focus to target an enemy, you'll notice some kind of bubble on the enemy, and with light attack you'll lunge and knock your target down.

Holding R2 lets you transition between floors, ceilings and walls, but I learned to quickly ignore the button. I use jump instead. Looking at a ceiling, wall or floor and pressing jump, makes your Alien jump to that exact spot. I found it to be a lot faster and easier to use than holding R2 press, just so I can get on the wall.

I only use R2 to drop from the ceiling.

It focuses your senses & you can see your enemies through a few more walls than usual.

To transition from ground to ceiling visa versa I've just been using jump, either that or just sprint down the wall.

Jump or sprint, the best ways. Seriously, R2 is almost useless. It's only good if you want to drop down.

Whats wrong with Bad Company 2? Aside from a small map It seems pretty good.
The amount of destructibility and the ambiance created by the terrific sound effects were pretty impressive.

Yea im with you 2. I love the Battlefield: BC 2 demo as well. Ill deff be picking that game up. Call of Duty has run its course with me. Its so dreadfully boring.

This demo im having a blast with. I teamed up with a group of 7 guys today so we all basically had a private match going on. We played an unofficial species team deathmatch. I deff think ill be sticking primarily with the offical species DM once the full game drops. Its a lot of fun rolling with a group of xenomorphs doing all kinds of damage.

I didn't mind the demo at all, but I will never, ever play Free For All Death Match. Every stinking time I'd get a kill someone would just be standing behind me waiting on me to finish the kill scene or whatever and promptly do the same to me...that's not fun.

I'll play team death match, or the other game types but NO way will I ever return to FFADM.

 

[THE LIZARD#1]

Never have I ever been afraid of a games multiplayer component...that is until I played this game. The Marines are my favorite to play as. Its such a rush to put on head phones and be completely immersed in the atmosphere of the game.

The job the developers have done is nothing short of phenomenal! I lost my first match by 1 point and have been on a nine game win streak since then. The game is a breath of fresh air, in my opinion, for the first person shooter genre. Its nice to fight an enemy thats menacing and doesn't have a gun to shoot you with.

Its crazy to be walking around and hearing things then BOOM! You have a tail through your chest or looking into the cold black holes of a Predator mask. I'm buying this game day one!
