New children's cartoon set to debut...Buddy G with Two Mommies

Children shouldn't be introduced to any sexuality. At least not at the age that the clip seems to be aimed toward. If a child has parents of the same sex, it should be the parents job to tell them that it's fine and acceptable (if they don't already believe it so.)

Should children's television be about drugs, violence and crime? No. Sexuality is just as an adult theme as such.

I don't see anything in this about sexuality, it all appears to be about relationships.

I can't get that damn theme song out of my head now. :cmad:

One of the relationships they are heavily focusing on is the mother/mother relationship. And, to have that type of relationship, the two women are obviously sexually attracted to one another. That is their sexual orientation. It's clearly not the case, as mentioned before, of such shows as Full House where the three "fathers" are friends.

How is that different than a show with a 'regular' couple? Any couple who is married is implied to be having sex. 'Mommy is 'married' to a woman' has no more sexual implication than 'Mommy is married to a man.'

Exactly.

They're using the two mothers as the show's gimmick. Children's television has never focused on the character's parents.

I have no problem with a homosexual couple being on television. I do, however, have a problem with making a children's storyline revolve around having same-sex parents. And if the show isn't going to revolve around that, they really need to consider how they're marketing it.

There are lots of books meant to teach tolerance to children. 'Mommy has a tattoo' comes to mind. I think its a great idea- the easiest way to teach tolerance to young minds is to expose them to situations so they don't seem 'different' and 'scary.'

That would work if it was just one episode focusing on the issue but this is actually the premise of the show. They've turned it into a gimmick.
