New Dr. Pepper Ten Ad. "It's not for women!"

I'm just a bit baffled by this commercial. It says all ladies like Rom Coms, etc. etc. but I hate them and I'm a lady. I love movies with a good degree of action in them, like Real Steal. I am perplexed and insulted at the same time.

The advertisement should add that women are also too easily offended and take everything too seriously. :o

You may have put a sarcastic face at the end, but I agree. Some people are way too overly sensitive.

So let me get this straight.

Commercials like this are sexist, degrading and ignorant, and yet no one takes issue with the current trend of commercials making men (specifically husbands) out to be moronic baboons.

Gotcha :o:up:.

Women haven't earned the right to have tasty beverages. :o

"Strong enough for a man, but made for a woman." - Secret Deoderant = Not For Men

SEXISM.

Pretty much. And God help any film or television show that makes a joke about the black community, the gay community, the handicapped, ****ing vegans or women, because there will be quite a few groups ready to string you up by your necks. :o

Yeah. But that's okay, right? Nothing sexist about that at all? Or do I have to organize a bunch of my bros and protest all up in here?

Uh oh. I said "bro." Guess that means I'm a racist now too :csad:.

I watch Romantic comedies...sometimes in theater...in the back...all alone...

:(

That is perfectly normal.

i think the commercial stereotypes men more than it is sexist towards women.

I think the commercial is just dumb and unfunny, for reasons totally unrelated to gender-roles and stereotypes and totally related to it trying to make it seem like Dr Pepper could ever be a man's drink. Kids and Forrest Gump drink that crap.

Men, white men imparticular, are the last bastion of freely bashable people on the Earth where trash talking them has no consequence. You can make fun of a white man and no one will blink an eye. Do the same to any other group and you're an "-ist" (racist, sexist, ethnicist, homophobic or xenophobic [and "-ic" for them]).

But one day I foresee a world where you can make fun of anyone regardless of race, creed, nationality, sex or sexual orientation or any combination there of (black mormon lesbian from Canada who used to be male and looks like Medusa on a bad hair day) and no one gives a damn that you just made a joke about them.

Seriously though, it's not worth the argument. There are already enough double standards in the world to add this one to the list. And that commerical was just a joke on everyone, mainly men but also a crack at women since "no women allowed" is still vaguely controversial.
