New Exorcist?

You know though, I hear that more quoted than any horror film of the past few years, good or ill lol

They really bungled the **** out of Kills. I was so pumped to see the original movie’s supporting cast back in the mix. Then they all did dumb **** for the entire movie and were killed unceremoniously.

Which, granted, is pretty true to the slasher subgenre, but still. :o

with all that being said, I genuinely believe Halloween 2018 is a fantastic entry, and for me it's pretty much the definitive sequel with Halloween Ends not far behind, so that's 2 scores for DGG, imo. Halloween Kills had terrible dialogue and it almost felt like the movie was just there to bridge the gap between the previous film and Ends, which ends up being it's biggest weakness overall. I'm curious to see what he can do with the Exorcist, but I also feel like it's gonna be very difficult to make a movie like that in 2023. We'll see.

I put it in the same category as Halloween Resurrection for being an A+ horror comedy.

Halloween 18 turned a non slasher film fan like me into a fan...Ends destroyed that lmao

Good poster for what I feel will end up being a lousy movie, unfortunately.

Halloween 18’ is easily one of the best horror sequels that quickly becomes forgettable with each sequel that came after. Kills was completely useless and Ends was a combination of false marketing and an anticlimactic ending. I have no faith in his ability to do The Exorcist justice, let alone an entire trilogy.

That said, the posters look good I guess.

I guess I'm the only one, but I like every film in the Halloween trilogy. Halloween (2018) is clearly the best one and it has the only cohesive screenplay out of the three. Kills is almost like a milder, more stylish Terrifier film. It's all about the kills and the weird humor. I have a soft spot for it also because of Kyle Richards. She's my favorite Real Housewife AND a horror icon, so I couldn't possibly find her cooler :cheeky: Her role in Ends is so diminished, it's hard to consider that a pro. Ends overall is an unbelievably messy film and many questionable choices were made, but I find the odd emo romanticism really entertaining, not to mention all the fun kills. It's a deeply flawed trilogy, but I'd argue they are all more watchable than some of the more questionable Halloween sequels of yore.

I do hope we get 2018 Gordon Greene with this film. The Exorcist is a perfect horror film, but it's also completely enjoyable as a drama. I don't know if DGG can do that.

I love the new Halloween trilogy too. Warts and all.

I have high hopes for this new Exorcist movie. I love movies about possession/ghosts/Satan etc. They're usually pretty creepy.

Caught the trailer with Oppenheimer. Looks pretty cool and I can tell they've tried to keep the look of the original film. We'll see where it goes.

Yeah I saw the leaked trailer on twitter, it looks like they are trying to get the vibe of the original movie and I liked how there are two girls who are possessed and one is black... which I don't think we've ever seen before besides Abby The Black Exorcist.

Saw it before Oppenheimer and man, i hope its just the trailer editing making it look "COOL AND SCARY" cus this has nothing on the gritty tone and subtlety of the original, i hope i can be pleasently surprised like i was with 2018 Halloween.
I did like that little homage to the black and white trailer of the original.

The best part of the trailer were things from the original film (the score and the b/w images from the OG trailer), which you never want in a rebooted series.

Got the trailer before Oppenheimer and until the music played, I didn't know this was an Exorcist film or that there'd even be an Exorcist sequel. Hopefully it's solid, though.

I'm probably going to skip it in the theater. Looks like a sanitized, watered-down, nostalgia bait rehash to me.

I will say this was the only trailer playing before Oppemheimer that garnered any kind of buzz or audible reaction from the crowd.

I saw this ahead of Oppenheimer like others did, and it looks pretty good honestly. I hope Linda Blair also makes an appearance.

ViewerAnon confirmed she has a cameo in the movie.

The trailer looked alright. I wasn't a fan of Halloween Kills or Ends, so I'm cautiously intrigued by this.
