The Dark Knight New Joker Clip

Probably just the quality of the clip, im sure itll look way better in crystal clear clarity and in HD. :D

Well, it was done by model work. I think it looks pretty damn great but you can always tell model work from the real thing...even with the best of model work.

It's horrible until the garbage trucks itself starts to push off the Tumbler. And yeah I watched that documentary on model work and it definatley shows in that scene. :o:csad:

What happened to the guy who was driving the garbage truck? This feels like the tumbler crushing the police car all over again, and that is not a good feeling.

thats a guy?????! ?
Yeah... like this guy

Was that the driver or Batman tucking right before they collided?

This is the best teaser clip so far, bar none.

I may be wrong, but I think the garbage truck is being driven by one of Jokers Goons to entrap and push the Swat van along. Notice how close the truck is behind the Swat van at the beginning of the clip, almost forcefully pushing it along.

I knew there was something shady about that garbage truck.

I'll admit I've bashed in the past, but when I realized I was spending more time nitpicking about s**t and less time being an actual fan well...that stopped.

But whatever. I've made these statements before numerous times...and I have a feeling it's just gonna fall on a bunch of deaf ears like it ALWAYS does.

EDIT: Looking over this I already know the barrage of retorts I'm gonna wake up to...so if someone can just kindly continue discussing the clip at hand please.

Uh... maybe the problem really ISN'T everyone else. In your case, I'd look into that.

You do your share of bashing, and then some. You just don't like it when it's returned. And you REALLY don't like it when you're wrong.

Fact is, the previous Batmobiles COULD NOT do what we saw in this clip. That's what was pointed out, and it's a completely legitimate point. It means previous Batman films had to exist in a make-believe world. Because in the real world, sometimes Batman just has to take on a garbage truck.

Deal with it.

…Yah…cause a guy dressing up like a Bat and driving a tank is so real world. I see it regularly. Heck, my neighbor developed some fear gas in his basement. Pssh! What’s wrong with a fantasy world? It’s like Nolan doesn’t want to admit these are supposedly based off of comic books. Like he resents that. I resent that entire notion. Batman is a comic book. It is fantasy. Deal with it.

And the Tumbler has nothing on the Burton Batmobile. A Batmobile that looks like a Batmobiel...what a novel idea. :p

Regarding the topic of the driver of the Garbage truck.....

I just went back and re-watched the clip, and if you pause it when it shows the driver duck you can clearly see he is a Joker goon as he is wearing a clown mask.

So Bats is kicking ass, instead of injuring innocent people.

Oh, I forgot. Nolan's an idiot, and YOU'RE a genius. Got it now.

When did I say that? Nolan is a genius! But this is what he coins heightened reality. It's not reality. He’s taking something completely fantastical and giving it a level of believability. I respect that, but I wish he'd not be afraid to keep things more accurate too. It's still fantasy nonetheless. To deny that is moronic. This is based off of a comic book...whether you like it or not. Suck it up!

I can't remember where, but Nolan had this great comment on a video interview about how the medium isn't important, and I totally agree with that. He's focused on making a good movie, not on paraphrasing a whole bunch of comic books that are great just the way they are.
So....NO....TDK is not based on a comic book; it's inspired by one. There is a huge difference, and - in this case - it was clearly the most effective route to go. I appreciate that you really enjoy Bat art, but this is Bat cinema. I mean... did you really ***** when Braveheart was totally incorrect to the history, or when Jurassic Park went outside the novel? No, of course not, because making a great piece of cinema is different than making a great piece of artwork or writing. And greatness is Nolan's only aim; that's what I respect.
